Upon getting quote from contractor, markup the price 20-30% to customer, at the same time press contractor by 10-20%.

If you want to charge per project, go ahead, but make sure it is reasonable price.
If you are worker in some company, you know how much you get. When you part time as freelance, charge what you suppose to charge, and not OPEN MOUTH Crocodile bite.
