Hi Folks,

Last Saturday i went for the Perodua Service Center.
I went to service my 1 year old MYVI SE for 20, 000KM.
They told me since is the forth service meanings labor charge will charged after this onwards.
I was okay la. Usually i make appointment before i go over there. that's what i made my appointment at 9.30am and i was 15min earlier.

So the service person have a look in the car, the engine and the meter. Then she issue me bill stating this what i will be charged for and the listing.
It was about rm380 i was like shocked. the I see the semi-synthetic oil was around RM88 which was the same since last time.

Then they charge for the Iridium Spark Plug for RM188. i was shocked to see that. I do simple Google out there is around rm130 - RM150 only. I ask them they told they use genuine product which only for Perodua. Then for the 20,000km Service they charge for RM42.00 and another miscellaneous was around rm42. They told me the labor charge and service .

I was kinda unhappy with the fee. They insist its how it has been done. No choice then i service my car.then i go back my car 1pm. Servicing the car at Perodua very expensive and takes too long even though made appointment earlier.

I not sure how others feel about it. But for Malaysian car price it self is very expensive with low spec and with many issues. I guess all of you know this that its unfair for local cars. i bought the car RM54,800 which i guess its too expensive. Plus the warranty will be void in case we service out there beside Perodua and these cars really need warranty as got some issues time to time. Somehow, they are more into money rather than the quality they provide.

your problem is they asking you about irridium plug, just say no to them, and use normal plug at rm50.

my wife got this question last week. of cos she refused and get the normal spark plug only.

exercise your right to say no, before you sign. thats why they let you check and sign.

choose the right service center is critical, even if you're driving mercedes.

Actually i really want to change to Iridium which i planned last time. Then when i go to service center they will change which i didnt ask them. I say okay la since i did plan to go it. but the price is one i worried.

QUOTE(yamato @ Mar 5 2012, 11:30 AM)
they should have quote you the price before getting you agreement to carry out the replacement/service job.

if you dont ask, they do tell. both party are to be blamed.
*
They did quote me before the action carried. thats where i ask them this and that. after that i was like aiya. then i agree on it. Coz i get less time to do spend for this as i am busy nowadays. therefore to take another day, i was reluctant.

I just sharing my story to know whether its common or not.

QUOTE(chrislyv @ Mar 5 2012, 11:30 AM)

i don't see much to complain here.. 20k major service and spark plugs change..
well other than you can choose normal plugs
but iridium is more expensive so you get wat you pay for..
and you buy online of course cheaper than SC la
everything also like that la engine oil, spar parts..etc
*
There is no question on that agree with you. Just i concern why the price gap is large enough. We already support them buying cars. plus charging part for expensive rate. I feel absurd on this

Added on March 5, 2012, 11:42 amHi Guys,

They did quote me before do the servicing. Is not that they did without letting me know. I was wondering on the price why there is gap. When i question them they reply this and that which justify themselves even though i was very firm.

Changing to Iridium was my last time plan. When they prepare the quote they say need to change it to Iridium. So was okay la since i did have the plan. Then i not really agree with the price the charge. thats what i meant

but they should told everything about the price etc.. i understand ur feeling TS, at suzuki they told everything like price n parts they will replace b4 proceed anything, after i agree then they do it..

so TS point is they should told TS b4 done it and izzit TS agree with the price n all parts being replace.. that's all
*
Hi

My point was they did tell me the price which i didn't really agree due to overprice which i dont feel reasonable . When i reason with them they saying this how is done and its standard.

they will give you a paper to sign, stated with the amount of money needed to pay.

the price is fixed.
*
Correct. They did quote me and ask me to sign b4 any action taken place. Thats where i reason with them. Eventually i signed the quote due to less choices for me. I dont want to waste my time. I did learn my lesson as well.

QUOTE(theanswer @ Mar 5 2012, 11:53 AM)
kah3..very funny. usually the sa will quote the price first and explain it to the customer. yes the iridium is very expensive because they claim it will last longer. i dont want to use iridium since i might not be using my myvi for the next 3 yrs. so TS whining is very funny. u want to use the expensive parts, yet dont want to pay according to the price. it is like..buying a bmw and angry with the salesman why the price gap is different from a honda.   doh.gif

*
Is it very hard to understand my english. I was saying this is a concern i was trying know whether its common thing or not.

theanswer, i guess ppl like you will pay higher price for thing you know u get it cheaper without any questions. Do understand the thread please. I was asking others experience not asking to reason with me. this is not whether right or wrong.

walking into authorised service center is like walking into a 7-11. A bottle of Coke at RM 2.20 and a bar of Snickers at RM 3.20. Everything is overpriced.

kinda agreed.

Hi Folks,

I have a question regarding my myvi 1.3, booklet stated every service interval is 10k after the 3rd service, but the service center put a sticker on my windshield stated to come back after 6months/17000km which is after 7k. Wondering is it true the 4th service is after 7k and not 10k as the booklet claims?

If the booklet is right then it should be when its at 20k millage instead. Any clue?

And can we service our car outside instead of going Peroduo SC without voiding the warranty? As i see their service charge is marked up. sad.gif

Its either the mileage or the date of service. Which ever comes first.
For instance if you service your car at 10k Mileage then ur next service will on 20k mileage or the next 6 months of your last service date. Which ever comes first. In case you didnt hit 20k but already 6months. Then ur service will follow the monthly basis, then the service mileage will be differ for the subsequent months.

Servicing at Perodua not cheap thou but try to raise as much issue you can while under warranty, Change this and that.
