Templars are defensive tanks. If you’re looking to tank in raids, this is the class you want to play. Capable of carrying a shield they offer the highest defensive value, making it a great fit for the traditional meatshield role.
Gladiators are more offensive fighters, think fury-specced warriors in WoW. What they lack in defense, they make up in offense. If you’re looking for a tank that also can dish out some damage, you’ll probably be happy with this choice.
Assassins are your typical rogue class. Coming from an EQ world, they are rogues, only capable of wearing leather, specializing in daggers and of course counting stealth as their major bonus.
Rangers are the other option for scouts. They trade off the element of surprise – stealth – for better armor and more versatility when it comes to using weapons.
Spiritmasters can probably be compared the most to Magicians in EQ and Warlocks in WoW. They send their summoned creatures to fight for them and stand back during the action. Only being able to wear cloth armor they are dependent on their summoned creatures and other players to protect them from melee attacks.
Sorcerers are your run-of-the-mill, average nukers. Pure range DPS these glass cannons live up to their expectations. Being one of two cloth classes in Aion, they are your main choice for magical range DPS. Like their Spiritmaster counterparts, you have to count on others to protect you from melee attacks.
Chanters use their mantras to give strength to their friends. Basically a buff/debuffing class that seeks its equal in lack of popularity. Justifying your place in a group will be a regular occurance since you neither contribute pure DPS nor are able to heal or take damage directly.
Clerics are the class that of course everyone picks first in an MMORPG. Not. Of course being the only class that can provide any decent heals at all, you are well of having one of them in your group at all times.

I've just started downloading the game earlier and I am about 50% in, I've been playing WoW for about 4 years and thought it would be good to play something else for a change.
Because the port used by GF is different. Go download the proxy setting from laglessproxy. It will solve ur problem.

Hi cubaan, the file is from lagless proxy website. Go to the setup and download the latest proxifier configuration file.

As usual... I need a way to deal with this game's anti-aliasing on advanced graphic engine mode, if anyone got the correct fix let me know. (just why the hell recent games all have anti-aliasing problem...)
Edit: Morphologic filtering can fix the problem but as usual there goes the side effects (rounded texts, slightly blurry visual).

Aha, it's the best time to play actually. ^^; I've been freezing and dying so frequently after 8, can't finish my quest.
By the way, I think it's best you don't get a gold/veteran pack yet, as the game as launched and their premium services are still buggy (just look at the forums). Maybe give it a week or two to smoothen out. Also, very suspicious... in my opinion of course. Just my two cents.

I don't see any MMO that have simple craft mechanism... as far as what I played, pretty much as hassle as LORTO but still manageable. Leveling problem? Just 3 days I'm over 21, I don't see what's wrong there just yet.

I dont see a problem with crafting and leveling in this game. The cap lv is at 55 now and lvling is not that pain comparing to others MMO like lineage which is a grindfest that take months to level.
Crafting doesn't really plays important part in this game as the weapons & armors can be buy from brokers. Gold & Epic equips are from the instances bosses and you cant craft them.

I saw a set of blue Lv26 equipment (bronze coin), tempted to get them... going to cost a little money to acquire those coins... They do however much expensive than those just slightly-weak-stat items on auction... But still, it is a full set... Except the weapon is totally not worth at all, better get blue from auction. But I wonder how they looks first...

Try 'ctrl + left click'. Can actually show the outfit appearance on ur char.
The free GOLD weapon is 100% same stat as those GOLD Lvl25 weapons you can get out there, just different name, can only last till Lvl39 and cannot REMODEL... OK, i don't really like the looks of it. There someone selling a LVL25 GOLD one for 2mil... Guess I will grab that one and remodel it to a cool Lvl47 sword's appearence... 2mil, won't take long... just need a sleep now... rush to Lvl26 whole night no sleepzzz

I'm running on Win7 64-bit too no problem. The only time I will get client start error is when i use something such as VPN that have limited network socket access... Something wrong with your network firewall/security/... I dunno~
Average ping 1000ms, best I could get 600ms or so... PvE is fine but when opposing faction all the sudden poping out of no where when you're doing quest... I can just stand there while the damn mage freez me with ice and any range players shoot me with arrow, throw me with rocks, whatever, game over before I can land a few blow. Mabe i need to stock up more "yellow un-freez potion" more just in case...

Btw, for all the W7 64-bit that have problems, did you guys manage to successfully install? If so, have you tried running the game in compatibility mode? Cause I'm on W7 64-bit, no problem so far. Maybe you could try disabling UAC as well? It causes problems... sometimes... just a suggestion.

Fly/jump/relog? If not, use your "warp back to save point/obelisk" (I forgot the name) skill to teleport back to your last soul bind location.

Hmm can say chanter, cleric & SM are the easier one. Best is chanter coz they can heal and dps decently.

ive stucked previously..what i did is i find a nearby mobs and start attacking it..lucky me there's one just in range
im cleric so my normal atk is melee.. Humanoid also tried lured a mob into my skill range but i cant use skill because im at mid air (casting cancel instantly) so the maintenance ended? ill try login later.. hope they will reset my char coordinate..

At least there customization options... disguise my plate armors into cloth. But that's the only selection available... wish they added more costume set (not those "real world" cloth...) ... white dyes are freaking expensive

That I don't really noticed so far I don't see any "contribution point" or whatever like LOTRO that you can get by completing tasks... But, if you subscribe for just ONE month- after ONE month you probably leveled enough to earn about 20million kinah per month. And I see people selling Gold Pack (30 days) under 20million... Selling loot on broker/auction is a nice way to start earning more kinah especially stuff like Magic Boost manastone (since I dont need them as I'm gladiator), Crit manastone also in high demand so they in good price. Now... I used Lvl45 enchant stone on a lvl25 gear and failed... WHAT THE FARK is this?! Are those guides FAKE?? And... why the heck those Lvl30 godstone sold by NPC are damn weak? Rather than 3 or 4 digits damages they are TWO digits! Not really expensive though, worth to get one for a little glow?

Before applying this, my ping was around 600. After applying this, it still is around 600 but one notable difference is there isn't the half second delay when I use my skills or click to move.

Bravo, good finding... it do reduce my average ping from 650ms to 450ms
i think ill move to NA server.. dunno prob with maxis route or what.. in EU my latency is around 600-700ms using maxis.. but in NA my latency is around 300-350ms only.. with the slow rate im lvling i think i wont even be able to reach cap for free acc at lv40 in NA before truely free to play server open

Never stop blinking- still loading I guess. Check how much is your ping before you DC. Type "/ping". Guess that is seriously lag due to some technical problems. Can't help much but yo just have to troubleshoot your network stuff.
Urgh bugged game.... Cannot create more than 2 char even with gold pack, still get that starter error =/ need MORE auction space darn it~
Er why Summon Wind Spirit III is super expensive? a few million lucky day~~ I read that people farming so hard for them... I just got it on a short questing time

One thing you must have after reach PvPvE area like Eltnen, you'll need it. Volcanic eruption earning earning system...
And wow -.- Lvl36 full set GOLD armor + GOLD weapon = 30m cost... have to go blue, armor set cost 7m So, if you can, run those daily quests that give SILVER COIN always... Elyos silver coin NPC's daily quests
If you open your skill panel (press K), then press the "Chain ->" at the top right section you can see all the skill chain stuff. Of course, you gain access to skill slowly on every several levels. Though depend on your play style though... There Several things you can do:
- sword + shield, now you can use several skill that involve shield such as a skill to stunt - two handed weapon - you gain access to AOE and the AOE chain later - dual wielding (by equip a lvl20 duel wielding stigma stone) - people say this is the best damage (logically, as both weapon stat applied... and faster attack compared to two handed weapon too). But I didn't try it myself.
You better get Crippling Cut stigma stone too, so you can use that skill to stab enemy fall on ground. But after you get Springing Slice (gladiator default stabbing skill...) you can junk Crippling Cut.
Best thing about warrior class? NO NEED TO WORRY ABOUT THE DAMNMPLOL I had enough suck with MP problem in other MMOs.

Was looking for the damn shugo, probably the most annoying one for quest, spawn only on certain day of the month, certain time of the day~! Saw it selling these stuff so grab a set =3 Now still lack 3 pieces (gauntlets, boots and shoulder plate). Guess that 3 pieces are sold by the shugo appear at night in Eracus Temple Cavern. I guess you just started on the "new uniform" quest or something. On early level you cannot teleport there, however you can buy a teleport scroll that will teleport you to Heiron. I think the merchant that sell that scroll is near to those pet merchant in Sanctum, otherwise he's at the opposite site.
I should go farm more of that books =3

Don't think there any big requirement, just go to Sanctum pay a very small fee. Well as you know, the amount of active players aren't exactly many at all

Seriously need some method right now to increase speeeed~~ We started the game in a pretty OK sized map... then on every new place we go the map getting bigger and BIGGER~! OMFG...
Aha... you can acquire a FREE wing after complete Elyos' Fragment of Memory 3 quest (need to finish all Reshanta's campaign quest first)... so don't rush to buy wings just yet...

My current level of gathering is 20+, so there's this one quest where I have to gather Silver. How do I levelup my gathering level up quicker? Should I just gather those small flowers (because I can see them a lot near the starting area (Poeta or something).

Do not worry about what to build first. The skills are all depends on how u slot ur stigma. In the end u will be able to get all ur stigmas.

Just gather the high lv item and u will lvl up quick. No shortcut. Pray for event that gives x2 exp for gathering come soon lo.

At Eltnan the gathering quests gets even worse. I went there with gathering skill level 95, can't gather anything. Minimum level 100 and there are like 6 gathering quests. Worse is those that gather the essence from those floating rocks in the sky. Need level 100+ and mine only at 1!!!
yeah will gather jst dont found much place to gather yet 1 is in the city of what i forgot up there will be lvling that soon xD n i sort of like assasin now after +2 my wep and add +9crit both hand omg awesome critz!

To get gathering skill level up easier... - save the 1 hour 50% exp boost thing for gathering use - do gathering when you have the energy of repose (20% exp boost). you get this after you log off for some times. This energy deplete very very slow if you just dig resource, so you can dig whole day if you want... But deplete very fast if you fighting. - find a spot with lots of resource you can dig, look http://aionproject.net <- .NET, corrected - anything 40 levels below won't give you exp
Skill... pretty straight forward since there no "branch". Level up, buy skill book from NPC... After level 20 take a look at the stigma stone available, see if there any skill you interested...

Yupe, this one is NA Aion by NCsoft, currently we playing on EU Aion by GameForce.
NA Aion seems to be more attractive than EU Aion... but it is possible to be spam with huge amount of gold farmers that might spoil the fun soon
Currently EU Aion have the game restriction that reduce the starter accounts becoming potential gold farmer In other hand, GF is working to reward veteran accounts to allow us get the same benefit as NA Aion too
This is the matter of pros and cons, just join us since our community here are growing

Edit part 2: There is an uninstall feature for this installer but make a backup of the sounds folder in case something goes wrong. You don't want to run that patch thing again if you have a slow connection.

It doesn't matter I'm Elyos or not in Telemachus. All you need is to create an Asmodian char on Thor server, and I'll find you in the newbie village. The gold pack is effective on your whole account so it doesn't really matter which server you used it on... So i got one pack available here, since I'm not yet purchase it on the website- I can transfer to Thor server if anyone need.

On the other hand... I just noticed we cannot use account warehouse accross server........................ DAMN I SHOULD HAVE GOOGLE FIRST!!! Wasted my time level char to 10..... I got ONE pack here for sale... stuck on Telemachus warehouse.
This is however not a problem for new player that just started... can just create an Elyos char on Telemachus, trade with me, use the gold pack, delete Elyos char, and create Asmodian char if you like

btw last night just try duel with an assassin which is 2 lvl lower than me(he lvl12 and me lvl14) and I lose...LOL
guess templar pvp is not very good compare to assassin...
Bro low lv sure la. When end game templar is godlike man, harder than a shell. There is a skill of 50% damage reduction which makes them even harder to kill. Try look at the templar pvp video at first post. U will be impressed on what they can do

Coin types: bronze (lv20~), silver (lv30~), gold (lv40~), platinum (lv50~) exchange exceptionally much better gear at NPC (don't exchange weapon, it's not as worth.), unless you want to... - craft yourself - farm abyss point...
Lower level mana stone... several things can do - exchange it at some NPC (quest, she will request certain amount of mana stone), not all the time you get "better" stone though - just sell it for a few kinah... - there should be some alchemy skill to combine mana stone to form better one, bet that skill is insanely high level

Yes can convert to higher manastone by learning alchemy crafting. But only white stones, 2 white stones combine into higher level white stone and there is possibility to proc into green stone

That's call Energy of Repose, you will get more energy by offline longer This only start gaining after level 20, you can use this to level up your toon faster, or levelling your gathering as well
tat is weird becoz it say for lvl20+ but I only lvl17......but I got 2 type of buff lei......1 is this energy of repose and another 1 more forgot what name that pop up after a while I login.....function also same as EoP
Is slow really the problem? Seriously I'm playing fine even on throttled 3G... (over limit)... Something else might be wrong, for example the Streamyx in my friend office cannot use to play game at all, but everything else works fine with blazing speed, strange.
