Hi all,
I received a misinformation from maybank representative regarding the statement issue. I asked him about if i perform transaction on the statement date, will it billed on next month? he told me it will carried over to the next and following month, to make sure i didnt misunderstanding, i asked him again that if i perform the transaction this month, is it will be carried over to may? he said yes, and guess what? i received the statement this month and i need to pay by end of this month!

this is sincerely a misguiding information and i need to pay the price for his fault!
What should i do?
file injunction?

Transaction before statement date will be billed in the coming bill.

Transaction after statement date will be billed in the following two bill.

Payment must reach by due date which usually 20 days from the statement date.

I don't think you can do anything to the CS. He may have misguided you but you should be aware of it.
*
I'm not here to argue who's right or wrong, but as CS, he is responsible for misguiding, cos he's the one who provide information right? let's say if a booklet also provide misinformation, should i blame the book or myself? clearly this is the one who provide wrong information. there's no way i would gain self consciousness without consulting someone right? and the best person would clearly the company's representatives, and, they provide misinformation.
I'm gonna file injunction anyway. i would try any way possible to make sure he is responsible for the misinformation.
He himself should be aware of it not me.

Furthermore, I did quote example to him, on the statement date, not before, not after.

Hi
to be more precise, (E.g: statement date : 20th of March) any transaction that do before 11.59pm on 20th March, it will still billed into the same monthly(march) statement. I've personally called the CS to double confirm as well as do the experiment myself.

I cant help but notice "on the statement DAY"..........

Statement day as in the day you see your statement appear (if u have online banking)?
If you statement appear on 25th, the last day chargeable is until 24th...

So if you mean statement day (above example) it will mean 25th, and the transaction u done would be showing in the next month statement...
*
the point is, i'm having a misguided information and i need to pay the price for his mistakes.
whether pay this month or next month, as company representative, at least must provide with correct information!
i'm not here to bashing anyone or around, at least i know this issue cannot be taken lightly, but this is seriously a breach of trust.
he told me if i perform transaction on the statement date(eg, 2nd mar), it will appear on the statement on 2nd may.
not once, but twice, with examples given from me!
'If i perform transaction of 2nd Mar, would the billing appear on March statement?'
'No sir, if you perform your transaction on your statement date of March, it will appear on May 2nd statement.'

You be the judges.

seriously this issue cannot be taken lightly, and i wanna see how the management would answer to this, i'm pretty sure there would be recorded phone session or something, least i would expect is disciplinary action would be taken against the representative.

Imagine what would have become if an improperly trained representatives filled us up with false and misguided information. credit card is something that we use during emergency hours, and i only use it to manage my financial.

I confused. Why do you make such a big fuss over this? Regardless when it is, you pay it when you get the statement. Simple. Bought something you cannot afford?

To answer your question, if statement date is Mar 2nd. all transactions up to the posting date of Mar 2nd will be in the Mar 2nd statement. In your case, your transaction likely posted on the same day.

If you want it to fall on the next statement, then only use your card on statement date + 1. And it will not be in the statement of May 2 but will be on Apr 2. I cannot fathom why you would expect that you can delay the bill by 2 months + 20 days (unless the date you are giving is the due date and not statement date
Honestly the MBB2 thread is starting to be a like CC general thread

and yes, you might be able to get the cs in trouble, but you'll still need to make the payment for the statement balance

the issue here is misinformation, go read my thread properly before posting anything.
whether am i afford to pay or not, that's my problem.

This is the CS's fault, why pointing at me?
I asked him and i've provided my statement date, i'm not drunk and i remember every single word i'm saying.
Getting him into trouble isnt my concern, this is his responsibility, i dont want anyone ended up like me if i forgive him.
this is not general CC problem, i'm using maybank 2 card, and i did come to the right thread before posting.

or are you guys having the kfc-staff-punching-customer-mindset? huh, since when customer's right has fallen to such low level?

seriously you guys really need to go get some help.
i'm here to ask for guidances, if cant provide any, dont bother posting, but i dont expect some negative remarks here.

If a tour guide provide a wrong direction, this is the tour guide fault.

and, i'm new to credit card, i've the right to get the right information, and clearly the CS provides the wrong information, he should bear the responsibility(again i dont mean asking him to clear off my bills. it is up to management to take proper action.).

Thank you.

hi...i agree with u on the misguidance....

and yes, u could file a complaint.

but i wonder what do u mean by "now i have to pay the price for some1 misinformation". alrite, exactly what price? like u cant manage ur short term finance?
if that so, perhaps u ask them to make it so u can pay next month la...

why keep bashing ppl in forum?

it is a mistake by CS, and by all means go file a complain and hopefully they wun make same mistake again. but u said it as if its a human slaughtering mistake.
*
pls advise.
the example i quoted is tour guide, pls show the proof that i compared with genocide.

Did you tell the Maybank representative what card you are going to use ?

I'm quite sure you had swiped your Maybankard 2 AMEX on Statement Date.
AMEX posting date is the same as transaction date at most time.

First rule of thumb : Customer Service agents may not be trusted. Best to call a few times to ensure all agents give the same answer.
*
that's a polite answer.
I did told him i use AMEX.

Moral of the story is be kiasu and do the transaction the next day after Statement Date. And if he had read my article on Introduction To Credit Cards, he won't be here complaining, hahaha
*
moral of the story is to read the article provided 1st.

complaining as of whining i am.

Lesson learnt... go sue Maybank and let us know how it goes.

maybe what they said here is right, filing injunction wont do anyone good.
better discuss with them to see what is the best solution for both parties.

this is would goes to another lesson learnt smile.gif

lol. i can imagine fenrir's position.

i had a maybank teller giving me mis-information about which exchange rate my bankdraft would be cleared at. went back and questioned them when the funds came in and they got HQ to refund me the difference of over rm1.6k. ONLY because the teller ADMITTED to telling me wrong information.

Now can you find the same cs and get him to admit? smile.gif
*
admit or not, doesnt matter. i'll file as customer complaint instead.
rm1.6k is a huge difference imo, bank very peculiar abt rm0.0001 cent, how come they could make huge disparity such as rm1.6k? this is really outrageous.
