During the early days it was much easier (if you have an account with Maybank), just click on the 'I'm interested' button (or something like that) on their website and not long after that you will see your new Maybank2card accounts if you login to maybank2u. After a few days you will get the cards.

Yes. Just got it last Friday. They say must be there b4 6PM if u wish to get the card within 1-2 hours

AMEX does not have installment plan except for very few selected shops only. Even they do offer installment for AMEX, u cant guarantee they will processed the payment on weekend. So the answer is no

No for 5% rebate and yes for 5xTP as dont have to be weekend to enjoy 5xTP

If it doesn't appear in M2U, it is very likely that the cards are not linked. You have to go to the nearest branch to get them linked.

I asked them when I applied, they said I have to make a call.  But when I got my card, they appeared automagically in M2U.

Last time, I did pay a visit to the nearest branch to get my MBB2 AMEX/Visa  linked to M2U. It wasn't automatically linked even though I have other MBB CC with M2U.

On top of that, I did call to CS to ask if the linking procedures can be performed from phone. The CS said that it's not possible and requested to pay a visit to the nearest branch with my ATM card as well.

I second this statement. Same experience for myself as well.
No issue ... I appreciate the security and the hassle should not be a factor if security is in mind.

Mine appeared 2 days before my cards reached the branch.

I get that every once in a while.. normally during graveyard hours, like 3AM 

Just checked with M2U and my previous visa also tagged as "Account is not Authorised" after I called CS to block my card.

oh btw I called up maybank to upgrade to plat .. but they said I can only request upgrade after a year not 6 month or to max my credit limit and pay in full for a few times lol.

any way to check my application status? i've applied but i think the branch only send out my application few days ago.. normally need wait how long? i am from sarawak btw..

Both look the same, they are widely accepted and most of the places accept both. I changed from MasterCard to VISA and created a lot of hassles. I didn't want another MasterCard when I already have it with CIMB Direct Access.

Yes, I feel that MasterCard has more promotions compared to VISA.
Er, though I asked them to change to VISA for me, yet they still sent me the MasterCard, so they had to resend again but sent to my hometown rather than office... I told them gazillion times to get all my cards sent to office yet they didn't follow my instruction.
So that's it, 2 weeks of ding dong for MasterCard and VISA issue.

I also thought they will give MC because the application form only mention AMEX+MC. When I receive it, I'm also surprise and I didn't think so much since this is my 1st credit card. Well, most important is the AMEX with the rebate and 5x TP. Maybe next time when I apply for other card then I will request for MC.

I wonder why they prefer to provide VISA rather than MC. My brother also received AMEX+VISA. 

Or maybe they want you to apply for another MC card. 

AFAIK, the default threshold is RM200.
Then I called them to decrease the alert threshold.
