SHAH ALAM 20 Jun — Syarikat-syarikat Afrika yang kekurangan formula untuk menjana pertumbuhan syarikat-syarikat kecil, seharusnya mencontohi Proton Holdings Bhd yang bukan sahaja berjaya membangunkan keupayaan teknologi industri tempatan, tetapi pada masa yang sama membantu mereka untuk berkembang maju, kata seorang perwakilan Afrika yang menyertai Dialog Antarabangsa Langkawi (LID 2011).

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Namibian Manufacturers Association, Hennie Fourie yang benar-benar kagum dengan kejayaan besar Proton berkata, kebanyakan negara Afrika ketika ini kekurangan formula untuk membawa kejayaan kepada syarikat-syarikat dalam negara masing-masing.

Beliau juga menyuarakan rasa kagum dengan keupayaan pengeluar kereta itu untuk mewujudkan ekosistem industri yang mengandungi pembekal alat-alat ganti kereta dan yang berkaitan dengan pembekal perkhidmatan.

Fourie berkata, walaupun kebanyakan kerajaan-kerajaan di benua Afrika berhasrat untuk menjana syarikat-syarikat kecil, pihak industri tidak mempunyai kemahiran yang sesuai mahupun keupayaan teknologi untuk berkembang lebih maju.

"Mereka beroperasi dalam keadaan lompang, kerana mereka tidak ada idea mengenai apa yang dapat dilakukan lagi.
