Got mine in the evening too.
Set it up with my Alloy Heatsink cooler case.
temperature hovers around 42-52
The double fans are super quiet!

The 4K video output of the RPi4B to my Sony 55" Oled TV isn't as smooth as I expected it to be.
Very satisfied with the Double fan heat sink cum casing though. Does its job pretty well but then again it is quite easy to brush your fingers against the fan while plugging and unplugging USB devices.

Would be great if you could run some stress tests and see the temperature.

Btw, are you going to run the rp4 on linux?
*
i m running the latest Raspbian and Librelec on it. The other distros are still not supported.

Perhaps you could run the rp4 with the fan turned off, if the temperature is okay.
*
with fan off the temp rises by about 7-10 deg

Hi everyone! Been away at Redang Island and KT for a week. Brought the RPi4B and two MicroSD cards with me one with Kodi Leia and the other with Raspbian Buster. Hooked up the Kodi to the hotels' TV HDMI inputs with no problems and my wife watching her icdrama shows. Much smoother and faster compare to my earlier RPi2. No hickcups whatever so far. Used KODI and Raspbian to view my drone and action cam images and videos on the tvs.

I ve tried running Raspbian, Gentoo and Manjaro on the RPi4. So far Manjaro performs best overall in terms ease of use and configuration.

Currently 1 of my Pi sitting idle 24/7 at office as I'm not sure what to do with it. 2nd Pi4 running Pi-Hole at home and I'm planning to re-install once Ubuntu MATE is supported/stable.
*
Need some help here with PiHole. Ran into some problems with it wondering you have the same or not.
I installed PiVPN on my RPi2B which worked like a charm. I then installed PiHole over the same installation. The online guide suggested I disable DHCP on my router and enable DHCP on the PiHole. It worked fine for a couple of days and then when I tried to tunnel the PiHole to the PiVPN, it corrupted my Huawei B618s-65D router. I had to hard reset my router to get it to work again. Temporarily, I am not running the PiHole yet to see if everything else work. I guess it could be the tunneling that caused the corruption.
Just wondering whether you run your PiHole with PiVPN or not?

How's samba file transfer speed over gigabit port with rpi4?
*
I ve done direct ftp connected to my home WDCloud server. The speed is definitely faster than my old RPi2B. Didn't exactly check the transfer speed.

How do you think about running it for 24/7 ?
Some review it stutter even running 4k on youtube.

Usage as NAS , or as Media center installing emteria.OS for android ?
*
I ve let it run bittorrenting for 24/7 once only so far. Got a bit warmer but still ok cos I have the alloy heat sink case with 2 fans on.
Stuttering 4K youtube? sometimes only probably when the files are big. Can't compare to a dedicated pc though for the size, processor and price.
I like the portability of it bringing it to travel like I did recently to Redang.
OMV is not ready for RPi4 yet, so is Ubuntu Mate.

Any alternatives for OMV until it's ready?
I'm probably just gonna use it mostly with jdownloader, running Kodi, and some Usenet.
*
As of writing, no OMV updates yet for RPi4B. Running is Kodi is a little faster than my earlier card.
I still prefer Manjaro to Raspbian for its smoothness especially browsing.

I've had versions 1, 2 and 3. Haven't gone for 4 yet.

Gave up trying to do anything that has any interactivity. It's a bit too slow for desktop use, unusable for 4k HTPC and while retro gaming worked ok, Parsec didn't work as well as I thought it should.

As a low powered server though it works reasonably well. Pihole is very reliable especially blocking ads on phones/iPads in the house. I'm experimenting to setup the pi as a VPN gateway for the house as well as a low end NAS/cloud backup gateway.

Good luck

You can try PiVPN which is very simple to install

I've been running PiVPN and PiHole on my RaspberryPi 2B for quite a while. Recently I realised I'm not able to access my PiVPN and internal network from outside using TunnelBlick or OpenVPN client. Anyone has any problem with this? I' using Digi Infinite 150 package at home. Would appreciate any pointers to overcome this problem.
