2. sudo apt-get install git-core
3. wget http://goo.gl/1BOfJ -O /usr/bin/rpi-update
4. sudo chmod +x /usr/bin/rpi-update
5. sudo reboot

FYI, I had been using TP-Link TL-WN725N WiFi Adapter purchased from All-IT with Model-A RPi, without any problem.

This dongle is at RM26 only. I do not use it on 24/7, but I don't see any reason why it couldn't do that.
For 24/7 duty, I prefer to use LAN cable with my Model B RPi.

today have power failure at my home, so when checking my raspberry pi box, i have this message:



if i just run fsck it will give error:


i've tried to run fsck on next reboot e.g


it will run only on /dev/mmcblk0p2 but not on /dev/mmcblk0p1



but still contains this error under dmesg


how can i run fsck successfully for mmcblk0p1 ?

Hi, I want to ask, is this thing suitable to replace a pc that is dedicated only to printing document? I was thinking to replace that pc with this because that pc is old and gonna cost me more if I were to maintain that pc up.

any idea how to setup NAS for raspberry pi? I want can expand at future. Now might be 2 hdd and next time can be more. should I link hdd to a USB hub then to the raspberry pi? or a hdd enclosure to raspberry pi? Will it better for heat and power saving on 2.5" instead of 3.5"? I also don't want too many power plug on it as if use 3.5 every hdd required 1 power plug.

Thank you for the reply, I'm aware that windows can't be installed on raspi, while parallel port getting more lesser these days but there are cables from parallel to usb so I don't worry too much about it though. I also had to buy a good quality usb hubs for the raspi connected to all of the devices.

The main reason I wanted to go to raspi as dedicated printing pc because the old pc got its motherboard broken, some hardware also need troubleshoot, running on windows and easily get infected with viruses (change file into shortcut viruses).

I searched some of the info about dedicated printing pc that you must install CUPS and go through series of steps (typical of linux) in order to get it running. I also wanted to know what about scanning though, I got a separate scanner and I want to direct copy from scanner to printer aka photocopy via pc software
