i've read some article saying that if the project cancelled, mayland have to return the deposit + penalty. they may ended up paying us double from our initial downpayment. they should be responsible as the are aware of the approval and regulation. even if they do not pay the penalty, i think we can demand them to pay whatever losses.

i just send an email to mayland to ask about the project status again. if no feedback, i think i will oficially lodge a complaint.

was thinking of going to their office and getting their explaination. no update at all from news/blog/forum?

Its been more than 60 days since I sent my withdrawal letter to them and still have not got my refund. Have been calling mayland office many times the past week and they told me there is some issue processing the refund in the accounting department. When asked to speak to the person in charge Mr.Goh he is not in his desk (what a coincidence)

I am expecting Mr. Goh to return my call which I doubt he would. If I can't recover my deposit within 7 days I will seek my lawyer. Any of you going through the same ding dong issue?

What decision though? To withdraw or to persue? There has been a lot of frustration on my side not knowing what to do. Seems like I'm one of the few that have yet to withdraw from this project. I was hoping to hit them on the clause of delay in construction which is in the SNP.

You mean they will deduct the RM40 from the RM5000 that you paid for the deposit? Then what about the loan agreement that you paid to lawyer but cannot refund in FULL?

As you said the lawyer only refund 1/3 to you... So you have loss of 2/3 on the total of loan agreement paid? Would you able to get this 2/3 refund from Mayland for the losses?

  Seems like you are the man to talk to. Anyway, I'm trying to get back my 5k deposit. I was lucky as just as I was about to sign the S&P, i found out what had happened and didn't proceed with loan agreement and S&P. So, who do I email my letter of request? Would you have a direct contact to someone who can process the claim? I've read about a person named Delia from finance thats being mentioned, do you have her email add? Thanks alot and appreciate your help on this.

Delia is not new. That's what she told me when I collected my refund and that was like back in December.
