i feel it start to went wrong when they keep using 680mhz processor and not pushing maemo or meego all the way.

i still feel its still the best todate of my Nokia N900. The best 600mhz overclock to 1ghz

WP7 is not mature enough to compete against android and iOS yet but maemo was furthermore WP7 is separated between other manufacturer as well not solely for Nokia

how do you define something as expensive? because quad core means more expensive? because android more expensive? So how can a technology that is common and shared by many manufacuturer with massive quantity consider expensive?

Same logic when ppl buy a DSLR for 2K u dont hear they said expensive even its huge, dedicated camera only but buying a phone with amazing camera is expensive?

Even after launch of Nokia 808 pureview it still do not have any competition yet.

The joke is even my HTC One X camera is shit so does it consider expensive if it doesnt meet my expectation?

Like i said it depends on invidividual i have a DSLR i dont need a prosumer camera. For me android is consider overpriced i rather pay for an iphone enjoy it then sell before it depreciate.

Like i said i agree similar price you only get a "camera" that only perform one thing dedicated camera so if you need to add an android phone on top of that it becomes 2.5 k to 3k right? so now you are paying 2K and u said expensive?

So now imagine you have a phone that capable to do social networking, internet, sharing, big screen, media player can install apps and for the price 2K hmm isnt that cheap that capture stunning photos. Remember the lens are not so called Sony Exmor Sensor is carl zeiss. I have a better zoom that optical zoom my legs.

Carrying a prosumer camera is tiring, NEED to charge, need make sure have an additional place to keep, make sure dont forget to boring, make sure dont drop, many places might not be able to bring because its a "camera". If drop praying in the heart hope the optical sensor dont jammed.

If i have a phone its always with me no battery can use microusb port to charge anytime, and many places can bring apa ni handphone la. I seen Nokia N8 drop from 3rd floor and survived.

Like the other guy said we travel alot to site, to factory, to cooperate office that dont allow camera and many places but with this its just a mobile phone.

For special events ill bring my DSLR out. Thats my opinion.

There is the full resolution setting that will allow you to shoot at 34MP in 16:9 and 4:3 modes. There is also the PureView mode that will allow oversampling like you request taking advantage of its lossless zoom.

Here the zoom factor of pureview mode

=.= the sensor is a 41MP just you cant take 41MP due to the circular sensor true 4:3 and 16:9

Before this when u take 16:9 is actually crop from 4:3 because the sensor is square thats why its 12MP of a nokia N8.

So if you read proper it still uses the 41MP pixels for oversampling



From the above diagram you notice its circular of 41MP but due to the aspect ratio you cant fully utlize the full 41MP in FULL MODE but you can utlize them in pureview mode for oversampling.

Its not that complicated to understand the amazing performer of a 808 pureview. For me what i really look forward is not the oversampling but taking the photo in 38MP

The website have changed earlier was a timer of the pureview 808 now its solving some mystery case i assume like the 800 competition who solve it wins a phone?

Technology you do not judge the value by assumption to a person that needs a good camera and and smartphone as bonus will consider the 808 pureview and for them its a heck of a good deal.

There also some will pay for common hardware ex value the processor and similarity, some fanatic will pay for the love of the brand, some will pay for the "41MP " camera, some will buy due to the performance or result they seen over the internet, some will buy because of friends recommendation, some will buy possible collectors item.

Conclusion the device will capture market attention question is how many

from my understanding malaysia getting the pureview alittle later is due to Lumia 900. They wish to push Lumia first then 808. Singapore already got Nokia Lumia 900 last month so about now its time for pureview.
