Hi guys, i called a 5 star hotel to book for a buffet dinner, and the staff asked me to give him my credit card number and expiry date of the card, so called to ''secure'' my booking. Security number on the back of the card is not needed.

I am using a RHB Visa card, can they or anyone else do anything (such as fraud transaction) by using that 2 numbers only? (the main credit card number and expiry date)

Because last time when I book buffet dinner in another 5 star hotel E&O penang, they never ask for anything like this...

Is it safe to give them such info??
Coz I m new in credit card stuff and don't know what they can do with this info...i mean without the security number on the back of the card
