Should I give credit card 16-number to the bank credit card telephone help centre when seeking for help?
*
If you are the one making the call, they may request your card number or IC number for identification/verification (with some other questions). Usually I just give my IC number as I can memorize it.

I feel a bit unsecured when telling them the 16 digit credit card number.
Only three pass phrase in order to make transaction online, those are 16digit number, card expire date, and 3 digit number on the back of the card.
*
If you are the one making the call to the number listed at the back of your card, then it is alright. For general questions not specific to me alone, I just skip all the card details though.

I intend to apply one card but the form requires my consent for disclosure of information for marketing, promotional purposes to persons or third parties as the bank may deem fit, and a lot other clause more.

Just wondering if anyone of you ever tick no, and your application is still approved?

Let's say, I applied for 1 card with an annual fee, no 1st year fee waiver. When will I be charged the annual fee for the 1st time, upon approval or 1 year anniversary? Thank you

I have terminated my card account and I want to keep the card as memento due to its design. My question is, will it still go through and being charged if it is swiped?

Previously, I destroyed everything; the chip, magnetic strip, the CVC and cut it to small bits.

I have made a reservation for a hotel room using my CC and it is not charged yet.
Is it possible for me to request the hotel to charge my another CC instead?
If yes, this should be done during check-in or check-out?

Thank you

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
for 20 days payment deferment is mean no interest is charge if pay within 20 day of purchase?

different people will have different type of spending and financial planning. we over here like to remind readers that it is best to settle all outstanding before the due date to avoid penalty interests.

example:
statement date cycle is every 18th of the month. i made a purchase of RM1000 on 20th July 2013.

This transaction will only appear on the 18th August 2013 statement, due date will be 8th or 9th September 2013.

As long as i settle everything by 8th or 9th August, no penalty interest (always pay few days before if using IBG or cheque).

Can you see the period that I can defer my payment without having to pay a single cent in interest?

Now, 20 July is a weekend and if I am using Maybank 2 cards Amex, I will get 5% rebate + 5x points, roughly equivalent to RM75 smile.gif

Hi, i read thru 1st post, but I think the question i wanted to ask is too noob so it wasnt stated or i dont even know which category it falls in.

Does other credit card from the same bank will share the credit limit?
EG: Card A from MBB credit limit 7K, used up 6K, left 1k
Then when apply new card B from MBB with credit limit 8K, will it be like:
8K - 6k credit from the Card A? so i actually left 3K to use on Card B?
*
All my cards so far are shared limit if they are from the same bank.

Based on your example, you are only left with 2k. Since it is a shared limit, it means your CL has been increased from 7k to 8k. The 2k balance can be used by either one, card A or B.

HLB Visa Signature still allows entry to the lounge @ KLIA & LCCT.
I was at KLIA lounge 2 weeks ago, and LCCT lounge just last week with my HLB Visa Signature card.

I just looked at the website after reading your page quickly, and yes, HLB stated it on their site.

I think this is the ULTIMATE card then smile.gif

Hi, I come across your post below on hotelclub:

QUOTE
I booked a room through Hotelclub and was billed RM2857.62, the exact amount quoted to me in MYR in the checkout page. There was no currency conversion at all. Should i have known this earlier, i would have charged the room to my Citibank VISA instead of Maybank VISA  doh.gif

Anyway, the booking was made just 2 days ago and when i went back to the website this morning, the rate has gone down a bit to just RM2816.50. It means that i overpaid RM41.12  vmad.gif

Whenever you choose to book a room through Hotelclub, always choose MYR as your default currency. You'll notice that their MYR rate is lower than the rate quoted in USD or Korean Won (in my case).
I would like to know whether the booking will be charged to our card at the moment we submit the booking form (like Agoda), or during check-out (after the stay)?

Thank you smile.gif

It will be charged immediately. However, most hotel rooms sold by HotelClub is fully refundable. So do check if the hotel room you want to book is fully refundable. I cancelled a booking a few weeks ago for a hotel room in Singapore and the money was refunded to my account in only 2 or 3 days. Very efficient i must say   thumbup.gif

By the way, do book your room through the HotelClub/VISA promo page   smile.gif
*
Hi, thanks for the confirmation. I was a bit hesitant initially as it states, "Hotel fees are paid upon check-in or check-out, unless otherwise specified by the hotel policies", but I later figure that it applies to cancellation or room service charges. Yeah, saw that cancellation bears no fee but only the hotel may impose some.

I booked through the Visa promo page where it states 15% discount offer. I did a comparison, no difference in pricing between CIMB/RHB and a few ringgit cheaper than agoda (7% Maybank Amex discount).

The price shown between USD and MYR is exactly the same as current forex, so I opted for MYR too. If everything goes well, I will get further 5% cashback (RHB online transaction promo).

laugh.gif

add:
The transaction is not posted at online banking yet, but the amount deducted from my CL is a few ringgit more than the amount shown at the voucher (small amount of ~RM6). I thought if we select MYR, there is no more forex?

Okay, so I have contacted both RHB bank and HotelClub.

According to HotelClub, the amount billed will be the same as what is shown at the voucher (no forex fee).

I contacted RHB to check on the amount billed (still floating) and here is what I got:

RTG ratetogo - RM5.90
RTG hotelclub - RMRM270.75

The amount shown at the voucher is RM270.51

Anyone know what is this 5.90 for, and why there is a difference of 0.24 there? rclxub.gif

add: received a clarification from HotelClub, all is well on the 5.90 smile.gif
QUOTE
We only charged you with the total quoted cost of 270.75 MYR.  You may however see a pre-authorization of 5.90 MYR.  This is only a pending transaction to your account to obtain authorization from your bank that the credit/debit card provided for a recent reservation is valid.  This will automatically drop off of your account within 3-5 business days.
The difference in the figure will be refunded.
