Anyone working in Bangkok currently? I have just started working here and hope someone can show me around.

I've been living and staying in Bkk for 2 years already. Well to be honest I worked and stay all over the place. Worked in Samutprakarn amd Chonburi province amd weekends go back my gf's place in Pathumthani.

My experience is Thailand has it's good and bad points. For me as someone who is not into nightlife or shopping there is not much difference between Malaysia and Thailand.

Oh btw I will be changing job soon... will be going to my 3rd company in Thailand soon

Manufacturing... manufacturing especially for automotive parts are huge market in Thailand

First of all ask if you are getting an expat package. Some company hire foreigners but give them local benefits which you do not want. Locals have very less annual leave and no provisions for flight return back to home.

Well normally MNC should prepare your work permit and visa, but better to ask them that.

As for tax ask them if your salary is after tax (nett pay) or before tax. If before tax you may need to file your own tax returns.

My company provide almost everything - annual leave 25 days a year plus 3 times flight back, food, lodging, salary after tax.

As for medical all legal foreigners working in Thailand receives something like a medical card from government but the coverage is very low and is restricted only to be used at certain hospitals where you work. If your company can provide additional medical card that would be great although not necessary.
