QUOTE(erymanthus @ Feb 28 2012, 05:02 PM) Sad to say, but usually phones active lifespan is about 1 to 2 years. Yes you are extremely right.. the quad core wave is here already... many phones and tabs with quad core processors was launched in the recent MWC 2012When SGS 3 comes out, most ROM developer and users like you all will slowly move on to SGS3 and SGS2 threads will be quiet and slow down. Even stock rom release will slow down. For those of us who has own a SGS before, you will know what I mean. The SGS thread in Lowyat forum has slowed down...only Thread V22 whereas SGS2 thread is already V28....bear in mind SGS came out close to 9 months to a year before SGS2 came out. Even official Stock Rom is stuck at XXJVU for quite some time already if I am not mistaken.... SGS2 will face the same fate once SGS3 comes out in March...so in the mean time enjoy our ROM flashing while it last... ..slowly they will also fade out all the casing and screen protectors for old phones like SGS... Just my 2 cents...don't shoot me Btw, I'm still having a SGS(wife using) and SGS2... Looks like soon everyone be using and talking about quad core... dual core will be so yesterday |

QUOTE(aiman39 @ Feb 29 2012, 01:19 AM) Im not sure it is you or somebody else but before this there is one person reporting the same problem. Pretty sure its V6 but not sure which kernel. I suspect its the RP kernel, going to jump to siyah since got other user complaint same issue. Let me try other kernel and update. But for me i face this problem when on V4 on redpill. So when switch to V6 no problem, but i have not try using redpill on V6. QUOTE(kazama82 @ Feb 29 2012, 07:08 AM) I'm using crv6+ cf root.. No issue at all.. Even no wakelock at all.. Sometime depend on what apps you have in your phone. Bro not referring to wakelock, referring to the phone difficult to get out of sleep mode/standby mode. The screen just doesnt turn on. |

Just updating... I just flash back to Siyah v2.6.12, to my surprise the boot up time was almost half then it was on RP v1.3But for me i face this problem when on V4 on redpill. So when switch to V6 no problem, but i have not try using redpill on V6. Will keep monitoring. This post has been edited by rattan: Feb 29 2012, 03:07 PM |

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Mar 1 2012, 03:30 PM) No, I didn't try very hard to change the default screen..so not sure can or not... Mind sharing your speedtest results ?To make call, I guess you can copy the Phone Dialer / Contact app into your customise screen...and click on it to launch it....alternatively you can create a Contacts folder and dump some of your regular contacts inside (like their demo screen in the Market) but this is so not friendly....I still prefer the GO Contact or SPB Shell Contact widget where you can see the photo of your favourites contact and you can click on it to call, sms, see contact details, video call etc.... Added on March 1, 2012, 3:32 pm No, the yellow triangle is not normal. It shows that you have flashed a custom ROM.....you can get rid of it. The simplest way is to get the USB Jig. Added on March 1, 2012, 3:37 pm Come, come...come over to Maxis...haha I can stream movies using Viki Premiere App at no lag, no buffering...etc....just click and watch....but I have been upgraded to 5GB...that is why no fear to stream moviesĀ When doing the speedtest make sure select Cyberjaya. I have posted mine, Im on Digi and coverage was full bar when test was done with "H" sign This post has been edited by rattan: Mar 1 2012, 03:50 PM Attached thumbnail(s) |

QUOTE(MYstombox @ Mar 1 2012, 04:09 PM) I get abt 7mbps at home H+, maxis. Are you using maxis on your phone direct or you using a broadband modem ?Though I think the modem isn't really going at 100% Because I should be able to get 20mbps at home using other devices. But anyway, i guess its a battery life/signal-data transfer tradeoff. I thought maxis dont have H+ ? Where yr location ? |

QUOTE(erymanthus @ Mar 1 2012, 04:52 PM) I did 2 tests using 3G data (maxis). I selected KL and Seri Kembangan. I'm very far from Cyberjaya, so doesn't make sense to select Cyberjaya... very impressive results... DiGi damn slow... Different results... How much your monthly data plan ? Mine 1GB from DiGi its RM48 |
