Hi MYWifeCar, have you ever come across (i think you know my rides yah smile.gif ) that instead of opting for a better made 4" coaxial speaker eg Alpine G, how about a good 4" component speakers install back at the ori location?

I audit those cars before, I prefer my car.  laugh.gif

If you ask me, I think component or coaxial do have their difference but will need to setup properly to hear the difference.

Component get my vote, but since I still have coaxial to clear.... coaxial also get my vote too.    laugh.gif

gettin a good 4" comp for the front is more ideal than installing at the rear.
meaning alwiz provide the best for the front(spent more money for the front and rear much less or use back OEM)
reason being we are not trying to setup a surround sound like home AV systems. its a car hifi.

the rear does help the front, by providing more ambience and bigger imaging feel. but ur not suppose to hear any vocal comin from the rear.this is done by tuning.

the right way but costly affair :
front and rear shd have same speakers component

why?
cause each speaker has its own character, hence having a same comps for front + rear will blend easily.

hope it answer ur question

yea, i'll just playing the front, no rear as i'll not want any distortion:) agreed this 4" component set maybe paying premier than opting for a 4" coaxial speaker nod.gif

... . Just that you will need to sacrifice the front door, but to me, definitely worth it.

cry.gif guess my new rides is not ready yet for any cutting here or there, can't see to it although 6.5 should be better than a smaller 4 for serious ICING on the juice!

For meantime, 4" comp is the way to go for me thumbup.gif tks guys!

ok, but how about something quite near to yours both (& also another sifu's sound advice) but still adamant to keep my door as virgin as new which i know I musn't have rear sound distortion sweat.gif

Front - 4" component (am looking for just a pair of 4" midbass/driver, as I already have a new unused DEI 6.5" component set which can be used as the 6.5 midbass for the rear door whereas the tweeter & crossover for driving the front 4" midbass/driver...save cost a bit!)

Rear door - 6.5 midbass (oem speaker place which is just consider right behind the front seat, using my above new 6.5 DEI midbass) = due refuse to cut the front door ler sweat.gif

Booth - Boston Ascoustic subwoofer

Existingly ady have 1 2-channel Macrom amp & will have to look for another 4-channel amp if i am going ahead with the above, provided can get an odd 4" midbass/driver blush.gif ...by the way, saw this, http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2220379...if can't get any new one hmm.gif
