QUOTE(Cynox @ Feb 27 2012, 10:52 PM) bump into this lovely tab 7.7 just now in the shopping complex just now while out for dinner. Create a hotspot at my Note and tether the tab to it so i can try out the browser. The Tab 7.7 really really silky smooth. The display also as good as my Note if not better. Really like the form factor, not too small and not too big too, about double the size of my Note. The last consideration is the price - was quoted RM2,099 with 2 years warranty, not a single sen discount. Quite steep compared to Ipad and other 10.1" android tablet. I'm also impressed wt it but be patient. Surely the price will reduce after iPad 3 is announced.

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Feb 28 2012, 06:49 PM) Tried 7.7 today. Kinda like the size and design. Demo unit was laggy here and there though If u want lag free, juz consider iPad. But it won't give u custom ROMs, hacks, etc. Heard that ics shld be smoother. So waiting.

true enough, after the launch of the new ipad, samsung has no choice but to reduce price of their flagship tablet. now it's time to hunt for a good deal. btw anybody know where to buy a good quality replica Anymode book case? QUOTE If you’re in the market for a 7-inch tablet, now is the probably the best time to get one. Samsung has revised the prices for two of the best 7-inch tablets in the market at the moment.
The Galaxy Tab 7.7 is now RM1,899 from RM2,099 and the Galaxy 7.0 Plus has been reduced to RM1,399 from RM1,699.
The revised pricing makes the 7-inch tablets from Samsung a tantalising proposition. The Galaxy Tab 7.7 features the largest Super AMOLED Plus display on a consumer device. At 1280×800 resolution, you’re assured of sharp images and videos as well. In addition, the 1.4Ghz dual-core Exynos processor and 1GB RAM makes the Galaxy Tab 7.7 the most powerful 7-inch tablet in the Malaysian market at the moment. Have we mentioned that the 3MP camera is among the best we’ve used as well?
The Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is by far the best value for money device you can get right now. For a smidgen under RM1,400, you get the same processing power as the Galaxy S II, a 7-inch 1024×600 pixel PLS LCD display and a very impressive 3MP rear shooter. With the 7.0 Plus there’s an infra-red port as well. Coupled with a pre-installed app, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus is a rather good universal remote as well.
On top of all this, the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and 7.0 Plus can handle phone calls, text messages and support Whatsapp, there’s nothing in the market that comes close these two can offer at the moment. sauce

just bought it from celcom menara atlan. initial impression
PROS - brilliant screen
CONS
- laggy, especially transition from different homescreens and screen rotation. - honey comb sucks. couldn't hide the soft keyboard during initial setup.
experienced the famous multi-colour band flash once.

QUOTE(un_id @ Mar 27 2012, 12:35 PM) damn it.. y so fast price cut down? not fair to us early adopter.. thinking to downgrade to a wifi version instead.. stupid Sammy, why afraid of the new ipad. its totally a different class. people might find something on Galaxy Tab that is not available on ipad, like the memory storage expansion, smaller/more portable, good design, phone capability etc. what a let down. :big face palm x100: afraid when u plan to buy samsung or other kimchi brands, their reputation for after-sales has been bad. their focus is always on generating new sales and new customers. for example, slow and painful upgrade (galaxy S can no longer receive ICS). in comparison, iphone 3s still can use ios.

QUOTE(raoul @ Mar 28 2012, 12:01 PM) 1 month drop RM200....i think it's a reasonable price for early adopters. After all....most of us will encounter such experience regardless whatever product. For new buyer...now its the time to grab your Tab 7.7 Price drop after just 1 mth is simply ridiculous. Maybe its not selling so well previously. Frankly more than 2k+ is simply overpriced. Only rich ppl and zealots will buy. Not sure, but KuLi is expecting another price drop once the new ipad is launched in malaysia.

QUOTE(billy_overheat @ Mar 29 2012, 03:45 PM) In conclusion, I'm sad. Why don't i start a petition and everybody signs it up? Later we post it in samsung unives. No need waste time and effort. Its Samsung sole decision when pricing is concerned. Besides as mentioned before, sales may had been very bad, so no choice but to lower the price. Something like kimchi car also, price is lower compared to japenis brands even though more features. Those who bought ady, just learn ur lesson and enjoy ur tab lor.

QUOTE(masterelr @ Apr 10 2012, 10:12 PM) Finally got my tab today! So er... how do I connect to 3G? I've inserted my Celcom sim card (it only has data plan, no call plans or anything). When I switch on my Tab it says "Please insert SIM card. Emergency calls only". I tried going to Wireless and networks -->Mobile networks but get a "Insert SIM cardd to access network services" message. Is there something wrong with my sim card? try others SIM card. think its a hardware problem.

QUOTE(masterelr @ Apr 10 2012, 10:38 PM) The sim card has been activated a long time ago. I actually took it from my Celcom USB broadband. Below is the pic. I just used it for my netbook a few weeks ago and it was still working. Will try and see if I have other sim cards.. EDIT: I inserted the Celcom sim card into the USB thumbdrive and tested it on my netbook. No problem and I'm able to connect. So I'm not sure why my Tab can't detect the sim card.. did u insert correctly? pls read the manuals.

QUOTE(masterelr @ Apr 10 2012, 11:07 PM) I did insert it correctly. Below is a pic. I just followed the image displayed on the Tab. I even tried my Digi sim card that I'm currently using for my phone but its still not detecting the sim card. Am I missing something here? Or do I need to enable wifi first? I haven't tried using wifi yet though. u seem to do it right. how abt cleaning ur sim card with a rubber? this works most of the time.
