only for engine braking, not sport mode or something.

it is also on the prius, useless feature. in the manual, it is stated NOT to use it during high speed or the cvt will kaput

...i see, its like L option for normal auto cars is it?..

Added on February 20, 2012, 7:40 pmi think its supposed for downhill whereby you are not supposed to cruise at hi speed, and to minimize brake wear during downhill, instead engine braking is done.
