MP-3 is almost completely plastic.. with the exception of front landing gear. Thus- very light.
Very detailed with airbrushed shading on surface, detailed decor wordings, as well as come with stickers so you could customize.. length of plane about 3 semi-truck MP-1/2 arranged perpendicular (refer to pic...) mounted Megatron on SS. Vehicle mode roughly 1/60 size.. while MP-1/2/4 maybe around 1/24. MP-4 complete edition cost only around RM400 retail in japan ![]() This post has been edited by BeastX: Sep 28 2006, 11:23 AM |

QUOTE(subang880 @ Oct 5 2006, 01:34 AM) 400ringgit??? 18000yen converted to ringgit should be 500+ close to 600 ringgit wat... Stated retail price usually gets 20% discount or more at some shops..MP3 for about RM200... retail stores at least in my present area.. are not stocking that much MP4... or at least on display... (its higher price and retail stores dont want to take the risk of unsold items..??) p.s. mp-3 does have a metal rack of sorts holding the body, Based on F-15E Strike Eagle which is a 2 seater..MP-3 only one... but because of the 1/60 scale fits most 1/60 gundam pilots..Kira Yamato piloting F-15E Strike Eagle/StarScream ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by BeastX: Oct 5 2006, 08:55 AM |

QUOTE(endless @ Oct 7 2006, 10:11 AM) Had a go with my fren's Starscream yesterday. It looks better in alt mode. Furthermore, the quality is utterly disappointing. Air brakes are all plastics..except for skrews. hinges, front landing gear/wheel and the endo skeleton/rack (a piece of metal 7mm thick) holding the body parts.. Quality.. I say comparable to macross 1/48 which I have. Only 2 plastic colours are used .. greenish/grey and blue (not including head) ..red, white, silver colours are painted on..The sprues from the arms, hands etc were clearly visible. It looked like some noob Gundam modeller had built it. Also, there is no die cast component whatsoever [cept for the air brakes if I remembered correctly]. Lastly, the black wash in some areas were overly done. IMHO, they should make the legs heavier, as it will tip over to the back if there is no stand. The legs are also quite flimsy. Overall, I would think that MP OP definitely pwns SS anytime in terms of value for money. As hitler had said... mass produced and paniting of product are based on individual...b.t.w. one of the eyes of my SS was not painted on. This post has been edited by BeastX: Oct 7 2006, 01:54 PM |

I underestimated the availability of MP-5, Megatron... visited many branches of toy shop and collectible stores in the part of Japan I am in, since 29/3, but just managed to snagged up one of 2 left (one in box and one on display) from one of the multiple toy r us branches in the area.. There are however stacks of MP-2, 3 and 4 left.. MP-3 being the most numerous
Time to get a 1:1 Walther P 38 pistol gun model and paint it to look like Megatron to display with the bot mode MP-5. *Harder to pass airport security... This post has been edited by BeastX: Apr 1 2007, 12:22 AM |

QUOTE(UNDICI @ Mar 31 2007, 12:01 AM) ok... here's some points about it... I beg to differ on these points... only the outer/frame of the feet are cromed metal.. the rest of the legs are all plastic..*die cast mostly on vital parts like hips.. chest...arms...* the whole leg and feet are die-cast... a little more durable than starscream... and the frame hold the body is also cromed metal/alloy (non magnetic) similiar to starscream. The rest are all plastic.. hips..chest.. arms are plastic,... excluding pegs and skrews.. So.. MP5 just have metal feet frame ... that differs from starscream MP3 with metal prices all gone up..they rely on pertrol chem...(went up also) p.s. very loose ball jointed kibble on the hips and shoulder easily pops out.. QUOTE(UNDICI @ Jun 3 2007, 11:27 PM) umm.. if you wanna know... any1 ever try put a magnet on d body?... Only 3 metals exibit detectable/atracted to magnetism... Ferum, Cobalt and Nickle. Ferum being the most numerous component on earth is most often used in any aloy metal(diecast).. Therefore likely magnetic.... However the metal on MP prime/ultra magnus, starscream and megatron is not composed of the 3 mentioned metals.. therefore not magnetic.. A more definate way is to measure electric conductivity as all metal(and some non metals) exibit conductivity. This would involve some paint scrapping for prime/starscream but not megatron as the diecast parts are chromed(another metal). if it sticks.. then it is die-cast I would guess the binaltech's and MP's diecast compose of some/mainly of Malaysia most popular metal export.. timah That said The movie prime is completedly abs plastic (& some rubber) with the exception of skrews and pegs. UNDICI.. no offence but what u said for The movie prime and maybe the MP Megatron before... concerning diecast parts is just wrong. This post has been edited by BeastX: Jun 4 2007, 07:28 AM |
