My modem will lost connection whenever someone is on the phone, is there anything to do with old phone line?

Oic. I've made a complain to TMnet last night regarding slow and unstable connection. I keep on losing the connection around every 5 mins. Today, they sent the technicians to my house while I'm away to work, without notifying us that they were coming. According to my younger sister who was at home that time, they came in, tested the house phone and said that it's the phone that cause the problem. Does it make any sense?

I'm using the 1mps streamyx connection.
Streamyx is also disconnecting me every 30 minutes or so.

getting disconnected VERY frequently

my line always dc and the line is very very slow. Sumtimes wanna open normal yahoo page also need to wait more than 1 minute. Wan play game also very very lag.. I made a complaint to streamyx and they ask me do speed test using their speedometer. They said must less than 70% of the required speed onli they can log a report for me. Too bad my line speed is above 70% but less than 100% le.. so they can't do a report.. haih.. so sien with the line.. I'm using Dlink DSL 2540T. Internet package rm88.. 1mbps.. Is my streamyx/phone line ok? 

sometimes.. if the line slow, me and my fren will disconnect the modem and reconnect. then not for long after connected, it will dc then pop up "LAN connection now connected". The line will become very very slow. Did the modem got problem? struck by lightning or phone line got problem?

My Streamyx line is Very very slow this month i've call TMnet and they call me to use this Program but it cant show me the result for it DL's to 100% it says: Notice

I try 2-3 times every day and it's the same... can any Sifu teach me?

it's modem router o.. do i need to update the software version? the status for today also same like that day. just the upstream higher one unit.. haih..

How do I check my SNR again? I'm using a buffalo router flashed with dd-wrt with an aztech 605E modem, I see a blank entry with SNR in the wireless page but I have my wireless turned off, is that the SNR for the dsl line or only wireless? If it's for the dsl line I can just turn it on to check?

how about my streamyx signal? good or bad?
