planned to subscribe streamyx in near future but my friend from same apartment but different unit have crap SNR of downstream 7.0 and up 6.8 for a 512kbps line..

does that mean that basically my future 4Mbps line will have crappier connection since we are both from the same exchange or I might have a better luck cos SNR differ widely from each unit even from same apartment??

besides, does unifi always have better SNR since optical fiber is less prone to interference and line attenuation??

go to the webpage of your wireless router
and check for connected clients (you have to find that yourself, it's different on every router)

hmm.gif poor SNR margin, i think u have to check your phone cable, the phone jack and port, and also see hows the connection/wiring of TM's black cable to your house phone wiring outside the house. mine got frequent disconnection before and hv very low SNR margin. initially i change my phone cable and port to new ones, snr margin went up a bit, but still got dc from time to time, called 100 to complaint, tm technician came, they found out the wiring outside house is so rusty and bad they had to rewire it. now internet no prob at all! rclxm9.gif thumbup.gif

20+dB to 6dB??? With 6dB, I doubt you can even surf properly. Where do you live? And did you add anything to your network such as splitters/microfilter etc?

Addition: You better call up streamyx.
*
With 6dB, I get 500 KB/s. But it happen to me rarely but 10-12dB happen to me everyday and still can get 500 KB/s. 6dB 10% of the time, 12dB 60% of the time and the rest is 32dB+. I use 4 Mbps Streamyx and always get 500 kbps, line also drop frequently (when it get to 1-2 and below).

I've just rewired my house and I got 34dB all the time rclxm9.gif

On 1Mb package with TP Link modem, is the stats ok?
Heard that the max rate is the one determine whether your line support 4Mb package, if it's showing 6078kbps mean it support 4Mb?
*
Probably not. Usually, streamyx system itself have problem in detecting free port. When user terminate the line, TM system should detected free port(in reality, usually does not). Mine detect 8mpbs and just beside university still not even 2mb available. TM problem, end of story.
