hi guys... as per topic... is it worth to get a PS3 now as rumoured PS4 is out by tis year... asked around PS3 320GB is like RM1099 with std package (1 controller). also is it better to get juz a 160GB and den self-mod a bigger HDD??? ur advice is appreciated... thanks...

mine was 80gb back in the phat era and upgrade the hdd to 500gb....

not that hard to upgrade and u should do it before installing any games as back and restoring data takes time

ps4's definitely not coming this year, its confirmed.
so you might want to get a ps3 first because ps4 will most probably be announced next year, and only launching end of next year..maybe (:

Relax, buy it now and play as much games that you want on it to make it worth it.
Even if PS4 comes out this year the price would be to much for a casual gamer to get it anyway and the games would be limited as well. Plus unless you are the type that gets new things when they comes out why not wait for review first when it comes out anyway.

I think PS4 won't be out until next year minimum. They need to show prototype E3 as acid test before they start mass produce as a safety net. Since no news on either Sony or MS has prototypes on display this year, I assume they don't have prototype on display, and thus it's probably safe to assume they won't make a move this year.

I personally agree to the opinion that PS4 will not be launched so soon. Even it does, I believe it will take time to cool down the price and especially for those who prefer modify the console it will definitely need some time to jail break it......

i think PS3 or soon to be PS4 shouldn't b jailbroken unless u juz wanna play wif AI... for me the main concern to get a PS3 is going to play online... kekeke... ^^

for now lets enjoy the moment n get the PS3... wooohhhhhooooo...

go grab it man.. ps4 will not come out until 2016 -2018..because rumors said that ps4 will be running HVD(holographic versatile disk) which is can store up 600gb..its insane man..HVD will come out in 2016 thats why i said ps4 come out on 2016 and world not ready for this yet...this same goes as BD( Blueray disk),BD first release along with ps3 in 2006 so that BD are widely used in entire world..that is the way to introduce new technology for the world...ps3 nowadays really powerful system..support full hd 1080p..if ps4..what do you think?it must have need higher resolution than 1080p..need new tv..new cable better than hdmi.. sony said that game developers not even close to push ps3 at its limits.. the ps3 not fully utilize yet... ps3 are great system.. im not a fanboy..but its true..

there is no such thing that ps4 is coming out this year. Sony already claimed that PS4 will not come out in this year. They will focus on PS3 and PS Vita first.

I bought the rm950 sg set which comes with a free hdmi as i already have some games.For the rm1199 most games selection does not wow me

i got local set at RM1060 for local set from Sony M'sia... free HDMI + some freebies + games (got a GT5 Spec2) + free member (get 10% discount for accessories/games, also can deduct from points collected)

asked ard wats the difference inn SG n MY set... they say if SG set... warranty MUST bring back to SG as MY dun accept SG set and there is a fee to pay the shop for sending ur SG set back to SG... soooo i opt for the MY set where they giv 1 yr + 3 months warranty...

FYI... Sony Centre is not standard... price in Sony 1U and Sony The Curve is different even for games... muz do ur research before buying... @.@

Yup,the only downside is have to return to spore for warranty claim. I bought from pbbseller and he will help for claiming warranty with small fee of course. All asia ps3 set now comes with a year+3 months warranty (need to register online for the extra).

I support on getting the MY set for the warranty like my case a week ago , suddenly turn on ps3 and no display for shit reason like HDMI port not working all of a sudden , and to clarify more , i dont even touch my ps3 most of the time , maybe average 1 week once or so.

Without ps3 is like nothing much option to do at home
With ps3 like didnt really touch most of the time when its around lol

i dunno why but i heard alot of problem with ps3 if u dint play it fr few months..

i have a ps3 and a wii. let me tell you from experience. when it comes to family the wii is always turned on. when comes to the middle of the night when my family is asleep, the ps3 is turned on. Since i am a family man guess which console is turned on more often? so if u a bachelor get a ps3 u won't regret. and yes, ps3 is relevant for a long time to come. this is the best time to get a ps3 coz the game library is very many, the price is cheaper now, and it will last another 3 to 4 years (much more than that if you not so greedy about ps4)

ohhhh din know dat PS3 got such a character...dun work it up too often will DIE!!! @.@ kakakaka... but nowadays i juz on to update stuffs n listen to music... sumtimes juz d/l demo games to play... kekeke...

You can also try scouring PS Store. There are also cheap games on there...

Dunno why they stop selling it on PS Store tho (if it was ever sold on PS Store). I remember that you used to be able to DL the demo. Can't find it anymore... Maybe we all must go complain to Sony? I think DL size isn't a problem for those with UniFi/TimeBB/MaxisBB.

I never regret to own a PS3.. Abit regret after own PSVITA.. not much game, and so far I think dun have any great game yet that can impress me..
PS3: COD MW3, Battlefield, Uncharted3, Mass Effect3 ... and there are still many great titles.. Great graphics, great gameplay, really enjoy this PS3!!!
