I'm planning to hong kong coming June this year. This is my 1st time, I want to visit Disneyland. Any recommendation on hotel and how many days should I stay at Hong Kong? Thanks for advise.
*
i think 5 days 4 nights is good..but i was there for 6 days, not enough lar...unless you are crazy for shopping like me smile.gif

1 day for disneyland, 1 day for ocean park, and maybe half day at citigate then can go to np360 also....the rest is for shopping, night time can visit the peak, avenue of stars...all this very fast one... smile.gif

maybe i will go this coming june too biggrin.gif

anyone stay here before? read the reviews from tripadvisor, it seems good.

i stayed there for two nights during my recent trip to HK...

overall not bad but their room are really small (but majority of hotel in HK are small unless you stay in 5 star hehehe)...

they have 8 rooms in total if im not mistaken..all the rooms are in different design and layout...on my first night i was in room 2..which im not quite happy with because they use electriv saver kind of light and it takes time for the light to be bright..i suffer under darkness when i reach back my room at night....second day we changed to another room (3 of us) so its much better bcoz its normal light...

the building have guard after 12am and they will lock the gate to enter the staircase...during my stay, the doorbell was spoilt and we all waited outside for half an hour before someone came and open the gate...called the hostel but noone picked up....anyway just a small matter, they apologised after that... no big deal smile.gif

Omg, the hotel rate from 27th to 30th April is extremely expensive, any nice hotel/motel to recommend with budget of RM200-300 per night?

Last year i went to HK and stay at Mei Mei Motel, quite nice but intended to try another one
*
you can try to search more...hop inn around hkd600 per night i think...so after convert is RM 240+...

thanks for the suggestion, u stayed there before? how was it?

I'll wait next month, agoda might offer should be more in beginning of month
*
yea, not bad..overall good..but during my stay, i changed 2 rooms for 2 nights...1st night is double bed, 2nd night is for 3 person coz my friend join us...feedback is, location = convenient...but during my 1st night, the room is equipped with energy-saving lights, end up i gotta wait for hours for the light to be bright...its like living in the dark doh.gif but not all the rooms are with energy saving lights... 2nd night, the toilet a bit smelly..complaint and they washed it but still the same..anyway i only go back to the hotel to sleep..so overall is ok biggrin.gif

or else u can try GoldenWave..its clean and not expensive..and the owner is very friendly..my next trip in June, i will be staying there too smile.gif its at jordan...

i think better to book through the hotel instead of going through agoda... smile.gif

Just back from HK, rainy on friday, saturday and sunday was windy, perfect for travelling

Previously there is a forumer recommend Golden Wave Hotel, it was clean and the price is reasonable, Mr Chong (owner) is friendly thumbup.gif

Regarding the transportation to Airport, it is advisable to take Bus as it is cheaper and much more convenient, 15min waiting time only
*
Yes, everytime i go, surely i will stay Golden Wave, as of now, i dont see any other place is reasonable and clean like this one biggrin.gif rclxms.gif

you stayed at the old branch or new one? heard that the new one is not so convenient?

The new one is at Mong Kok if i'm not mistaken

your one is off-peak rate, i got mine at peak rate sweat.gif
End of april and beginning of may, it is peak season for HK tourism
Don't worry, i booked this hotel based on cynnz suggestion, i tried it and it was really good at this price
*
yea, correct smile.gif last year end during my stay was hkd450++ if not mistaken...anyway i think its clean and good enough for budget stay...i wont mind staying in budget hotel, save the money for more n more shopping haha!

QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 4 2012, 02:04 AM)
ahh.....if i known this hotel earlier..probably would book it
at the end i chose casa hotel
u stay in casa be4?...how was it compared to golden wave?
*
casa i stay before..i think for me both ok lor, just that casa looks nicer compare to golden wave hehe..

QUOTE(MR_alien @ May 4 2012, 02:33 AM)
want to ask those who knows abt disney land
i saw if bought from Ding Ding...theres an option to get the meal coupons...is it worthed?
and which is better?..1 meal or 2 meal?
*
i bought from ding ding but without meal coupons...not sure if its worthy but if you were to be in disneyland for the whole day, maybe you can try coz the foods & drinks in disneyland is expensive... smile.gif anyway, a local there told me that we can sneak some bread in the bag while going in (if really wanna save coz the foods are really expensive lar)... they will check ur bag at the entrance so probably will need a jacket / scarf to cover up ur bread or any foods in the bag smile.gif mineral water 500ml was hkd25-hkd 30 there... sweat.gif

for the hotel...toilet equally small or what...saw many negative comment abt the size of the toilet
am staying in family room BTW but theres never a pic of it

most of the ppl going to disneyland will probably stay whole day(until 8PM) cuz thats when the fireworks is
i think am gonna buy the food, just not sure which is more worthed
mineral water also need money?....i saw few page ago or is it previous thread saying the water inside is free
*
for casa im not sure bout the family room..coz i stayed double room..standard budget hotel in hk room size...

for golden wave, 3-beds bedroom is ok ok not too "small"..basically if looking for bigger toilet i think have to go to those hotel with 4 stars above i guess...coz hotel in hk is all quite small smile.gif

firework is at 9pm if not mistaken, when i was there last year halloween, ends at 10pm++ with many shows for halloween..worthy but very super crowded ... foods how much if u take with the ticket from ding ding? yes mineral water need money..nt sure if got free but i really dont see any free water in hk disneyland smile.gif

ya...hotel i know its small...same like SG
hmm..9PM huh...saw the schedule, said 8PM
maybe the time u go got special, thats why abit late

i go to Ding Ding website...the price for food coupon doesn't make sense...more expensive than original price
so i search back this pic from previous thread
and it doesn't make sense theres no free water there when they forbid u bringing in water(same case as universal studio SG)

yea maybe when i was there it was halloween week thats why the fireworks delayed to 9pm.. smile.gif anyway its worth to wait too...

yea maybe they have the free water but i dont know about it sweat.gif

All those negative comment about small toilet is the standard rooms. So I guess family should be find. Did u try to email the hotel to request pictures?

No choice, I going for 4d 3ns, not much time so I wanna try to fully cover majority of the attractions. A lot of ppl comment that Disneyland is just so so. Hence just see see look look only. Hahaha

Btw when u going ?
*
i think disneyland if going for few hours not enough but if just going to look see look see then shld be ok..i went at 2pm++ till 10pm after the firework..not enough, but no choice coz many of the rides have super duper long queue..anyway im not going to go for all the rides or watch the show, so for me its fine biggrin.gif

ok! will do that. read on travel advisor that it is more recommended to call him anyways.. does he speak English or Cantonese only?

also, in event that Golden Wave is full, do you guys have any suggestions on where else to stay in within a RM 200 budget? somewhere around TST/Jordan area is most preferred biggrin.gif
*
he speaks cantonese..his english not really good so i think its better to speak to him in cantonese...

my previous trip, 4th day onwards golden wave is full so i stayed at Hop Inn at TST..i cant remember the price but mroe expensive than golden wave...i dont really recommend hop inn coz got "not-so-good" experience there hehe smile.gif
