thx alot bro...any hostel recommended? biggrin.gif
*
i seen a lot of forumer prefer Dragon Hostel, but i never stay there la
anyway this is very subjective, really depend which part of HK u wan to stay or the price or the hygiene level
u need to read ur own review, nobody know wat u need...
i personally found tripadvisor offer the most accurate review, try there as well

sorry mine not suitable for most of ppl, solo traveler tongue.gif
super free and easy mode... imply i can waste whole day doing the same thing or done 3days itinerary in 1day and my walkathon can start from early morning to midnite... left with 4hours of sleep the next day... and repeat the cycle... on drunk day i slept for 12hours... even crazier, i ate heavy breakfast and then skip lunch and dinner to complete the day... surviving on water alone is no fun... sweat.gif

---
ok enuf of bullsh*t...
learn to user "Search Topic" in this thread, keyword is itinerary...
mine is there too and include macau tongue.gif
prefer u can check other too, after u highlight/draft ur own... come back here again
many sifu here r enthusiasm to crosscheck ur activity... no worry tongue.gif
---
why?
1. No spoon feed
2. Ur preference and likes is very subjective. We are not Tour Agency with fixed itinerary... some like shopping, other like clubbing, mayb food and scenery...
3. If there r mistake from ourside/yours... u can always have plan B. eg. not enuf time for certain day, u can skip it... too much time, u can include other plan smile.gif
4. seriously... more fun and excited when DIY...

ur frens arrive 12pm (approximately add in 45mins for luggage claim, custom clearance, etc).. it depends cz sometimes very long q.... n u arrive 5pm (add in 45mins).. time distance between ur frens n u is quite long leh  tongue.gif  i can't think of anything to go unless ur frens go to Citigate.. cz if i'm ur fren, i rather go for a walk rather thn sitting in the airport cafe for few hours (quite bored) unless i'm alone thn it's different story la..

btw tat is my feeling la.. some ppl might nt get bored waiting.. (chatting, having tea, wifi'ing at the cafe)  biggrin.gif

wah ur time very packed cz u r going to macau a nite stay >_< if u go for a day trip u can spend more on hk..

here is my suggestion compile from ur list..

sun - maybe u can dinner at temple street (four season claypot rice).. i dun think u haf the time to go ladies market after ur dinner n temple street. unless u spend less time at temple street. cz by the time u reach ladies market, the stalls or shops nearby starting to close..

mon - u mention go c buddha.. which buddha attraction u gonna go??
Giant Buddha and Wisdom Path, after that U can hv ur 'vegetarian' lunch @Po Lin Monastery it's the giant buddha at lantau island?? if yes, thn after visiting buddha. u can straight go citigate for shopping cz it's nearby.. after tat u can go the shops & malls at argyle street n oso ladies market.. or Langham Place Shopping Mall

tues - ocean park, the peak (u can c nite view)
The peak, please note dont go later than 4pm, a lots of ppl queing, btw u can always by pass the queue, goto the counter and purchase 3in1 combo tix (Tram, Mdm Tussas, Sky Terraces 428),
soho/lkf (i personally prefer soho thn lkf cz lkf is ntg to shout about.. perhaps it's like the signature of hk places so every1 like to flock over there to haf a look tongue.gif)
Me too at anytime i will choose SOHO over LKF  thumbup.gif

wed - macau I think Macau Tower hv world tallest bungee jump, remember goto roof top too

thurs - wat time u reach hk? tot of suggesting u go harbour city, avenue of star.. nite time c symphony of lights
Clock Tower is there too
*
hemm no time to buy wifey cake... ur fren arriving on sun might able to buy it... but cant use it as souvenir

yes u can

fyi, ladies street is called "Tung Choi Street"
i would like to recommend u spent more time at this area as "Sai Yeung Choi Street" and "Fa Yuen Street" is situated parallel with Tung Choi Street. (google maps mongkok, hong kong)

more info for u
@Sai Yeung Choi ~ Street Performers, Musician, Toys, Electronic Stuff
@Tung Choi ~ Like PJ Street... over-rate and tourist rip-off (buy if u like it, forget the price)
@Fa Yuen ~ aka "Shoe Street", sport apparel, fei jei (octopus wub.gif ) is here (near Dundas Street)

JUst to seeking advises here. May i ask how much should I change for HK dollars for a trip of 5d 4n?

It's a couple trip. Excludes flight and hotel cause these are already settled.
*
i think basic meal (wanton mee/chicken rice) including drink per/person is HKD 20-60 (~HKD50)
transportation HK50 per/person day (~HKD50)
entrance ticket please check the DingDing price i posted somewhere in this thread
shopping ~ your normal shopping price +/- 20%

IN this case, If i am planning to bring Rm2000. Is it enough?
*
yup... why not...
since u r going as couple i personally think ur budget will be very tight (RM2.5 - RM3k will be just nice)
i recommend bring some MYR as spare... if u need it u can change at money changer...

@Disney/Ocean park, the meal price is not cheap...
750ml mineral water is price between HK20-HK25 (~RM10 per/bottle sweat.gif)
and the food there... depend wat u eat... x1.5 - x2 normal price
recommend: prepare u own water and some light snack b4 going tongue.gif u will save a lot, skip ice cream and soft drink too

tat one not including hk-macau-hk transportation and ur casino entertainment fee tongue.gif

i din't buy any mineral water there actually, so don't know how much it cost but can imagine how expensive it is based on the living standard there  tongue.gif i jus bring my water bottle & refill mineral water provided at the guest house i stayed.. maybe u can consider boiling water at the hotel if no mineral water provided??
i m traveling super light weight... 1wallet, 1hp, 1tablet, 1camera... all in 1 waist bag tongue.gif

I'm planning to go to Hong Kong this coming May with my wife, 2 kids, my parents in law, brother and sister in law. For you guys experience went before to Hong Kong and Shenzhen what are the safety precaution need to pay attention.

I heard from my dad that his friend told him, his friend brought whole family to Hong Kong and his friend two daughter missing in Disneyland when they went to toilet. After hearing this I feel scare to bring my kids to Hong Kong. My kids only 6 yrs old and 2 yrs old.

Heard from internet about HK radio got people call in telling that Shenzhen got people go into the public or shopping toilet and hit by some stranger until fainted. Steal the victim kidney, or heart for sell. How true is this?
*
unfounded rumors doh.gif hk is very safe...
and it is impossible for it to happen in disneyland itself...
otherwise we will hv world disney scare, everyone will paranoid bring their children to the da park
---
while i cant said the same thing for shenzhen,
if u do follow this thread, one of the forumer unfortunately lost her wallet to pickpocket...
other than tat, nothing more...
hei malaysia famous for snatch thief, so wats to complain...
---
man.. u scare of alots of thing, then u cant do anything.
just becareful... and some advise or precautions...

1) normally when travel, money is their first target...
-> dont show ALL ur money
-> keep ur money in many location
-> learn to use safe box, or keep it at secret location... eg. secret belt compartment brows.gif
not under the hotel bed, can be discover by cleaner~
-> dont let anyone help u holding ur important belonging.

2) take care of your food / drink
-> dont drink alcohol
-> if u suspect someone spike ur drink, or it taste funny... dont drink
-> prepare ur own drink/food

3) plan ur transportation ahead
-> use reputed taxi company (a lot of fake taxi in china)
-> dont use illegal van
-> bus and train are the safest
-> oni buy ticket from counter, never from 'agent'
-> dont plan trip tat last until night, wake up early and go for earliest possible trip

4) b polite, dont offence local... remember u r tourist and r on holiday

there r many more tips tat i cant list...
conclusion, be smart~

Does anyone know where to find curry fish balls in Hong Kong? Those road side stalls.
Thanks.
*
i try 2 places, the curry taste bland and too oily...
both taste almost similar...
1) Mong Kok MRT E1 Exit
2) Sincere House Ground Floor facing Argyle Street (stinking tau fu)
