That is what I am asking With CFE, don't you think Proton has gone as far as they could with the Campro engine?
actually they can go down the direct injection path for campro, but after looking at the quality of the petrol here in msia, they decided otherwise.. anyway campro is quite modular, that is why proton is using it up until now, coz they can pick and mix any tech to this engine during r&d..
anyway the Y family engine is under preliminary works.. but the future of the project rests ultimately on the hands of their new owner..
drive proton memang excited one! last week my compressor suddenly overheat and melted 2 fuse, my car come out a lot of white smoke in the middle of the 3 lanes while waiting traffic light.
im very excited that time...
beside that, my car will vibrate like there is no tomorrow at 80kmh.
so, proton guaranteed no boring.

Added on February 21, 2012, 12:39 pm haha manual would unleash the true full power of the CFE (cuz the CVT is limiting its torque) but even the saga FLX's manual came late and not a handful buy it as well this p3-21a...not sure will be manual or not...or they're searching for a suitable ones
theyre goind for getrag 6 speed manual for the hatchback p3-22a.. and the engine will be uprated to 150hp from the rumours la coz the manual gb can take alot more torque than the poor cvt
the CVT can but have to use other model like saga..using VT2...this one using VT3 want more torque from CFE using CVT thn have to use different model...mean more expensive manual surely can unleash full torque...mean not 208nm
vt3 is the best that zf got right now if im not mistaken.. proton can use jatco cvt like the lancer one that can take highr torque.. but the unit is much bigger and heavier compared to the zf

im not bashing mindlessly... i was referring to Jumbuck (Arena). as i thought Ancap not that strict compare to Euroncap. So if Jumbuck can score 1 star for ancap, then 0 star for Eurocap lolx... see this video. It does not deserve for 1 star. Crash till like this... omg. At least Saga, Waja and Exora score 3 stars and above.
