are you sure?

i saw one trophy that is to clear all single player missions/ gold in all MP maps

edit: i guess yea , based on this http://www.ps3trophies.com/forums/showwiki...-3-Trophy-Guide @ Unwavering section.

still doubtful though
*
The Aria : Eclipse side mission is part of the Master and Commander trophy and not part of the Unwavering trophy.

And if you look again, the Master and Commander trophy states you need your Effective Military strenght to be above 4000 before you embark on a certain Cerberus mission.
You can easily hit that figure before the Cerberus mission without doing the Aria: Eclipse mission.

Also want to shoutout to the LYN ME3 multiplayas!!! Thanks for helping out with my Unwavering trophy via MP!!! thumbup.gif

Mordin will be replaced by another Salarian and you can still do the Genophage mission.

QUOTE(nwk @ Apr 16 2012, 11:18 AM)
What is the point of promoting a character if it resets back to level 1?
*
Promote

After obtaining level 20 with a class in multiplayer, you can promote them to the single player galaxy at war. Doing this will reset the promoted class characters to level 1. It will however increase war assets in single player by 75 and add 10 levels to your N7 ranking for multiplayer. Used character slots for that class will be reset to default and have to be remade, but any unlocked characters and any additional appearance customization options for the characters are kept.

ic... then i'll continue with my insanity run.

other trophies obtained alreayd, except insanity SP and unwavering.
*
Ok good luck but you can also bump up your Effective Military strenght by playing some multiplayer games and getting a character to level 20 and promoting them to add 75 points (per promotion) to your war assets. Just thought I had to add that last bit so that I didn't mislead you because I have promoted alot of characters from MP, hence it was easy for me to reach that score.

Ah thanks for clarifying, I started my first game using an imported Shepard who had completed the suicide mission with everyone surviving therefore haven't seen this other outcome you are mentioning.

Since we are on this topic, my personal opinion on how to make GOLD runs more achievable and not a Grindfest (due to the same map over and over again) for us LYN forumers :

FRIENDS
1. Go to the first post on this forum.
- There is a list of forumers who are on PSN. I have personally played with neonnw, Arby_Vakarian, guanyi, dkliew_US and unrealweapon
- Send them a request to be added to their PSN friend's list
- That way if we see us online, you can request that we invite you into our multiplaya games. Beats playing with random pubbies wink.gif

COMMUNICATION
1. If you don't have a headset, no worries. Just listen and follow the direction/warnings that the other players are providing. I think a majority of us who do GOLD runs know what we are doing tongue.gif
2. Each mission can be made easier if the foursome agree that the biotic/tech powers and weapons that would be best for that opponent is covered. For example, it would be easier to finish the mission if you have an Asari Adept with Bubble Stasis against Cerberus since all Cerberus enemies except the Mech's are vulnerable to it.

TACTICS
1. Surviving GOLD is mainly about finding the best spot to camp and survive the oncoming hordes. It is not about going out and looking for the enemy.
- Even for Assasination missions the targets normally come to you 8 out of 10 times
- For activate/deactivate missions, if you have an infiltrator on your team ( see COMMUNICATION section, point 2 ) get them to cloak and activate/deactivate
- For Hack missions, that is the only time you have to leave your camping spot if the Hack objective is not where you are currently camped.

2. The maps are mainly predictable on where the best defensible positions can be found. They are normally accross the map from where you spawn :
Firebase White : From the landing pad head to the lowest level of the map where the big room is located.
Firebase Glacier : Head towards the right from where you spawn, again the lowest area of the map is the best camping area
Firebase Giant : Head towards the right, up the ramp into the room that served as the control center in the single player mission.
Firebase Reactor : Head directly straight from the spawning area through the room with the glowing red light in the ceiling to the other side
Firebase Ghost : From the spawning area, head straight accross to the building that is flanked by 2 other buildings and a courtyard in front
Firebase Hydra : From the spawning area, head to the top left hand corner of the map. It is a narrow corridor that leads to a room with the Blue Globe.
Firebase Condor : This one I have not tried but the hill at the top of the map is the most defensible but a lack of ammo boxes nearby makes this dicey.
Firebase Dagger : This is the only one that is abit different. The bridge in the middle of the map is probably the most defensible but the sheer openess of the map is an advantage as well because you can split up and regroup again if things get abit hairy.

3. If you make it to wave 11, stay at your current defensive position until about 30 seconds remain on the clock. At that point, storm to the extraction zone and you will find that it should be clear of enemies which will make the remaining 20 seconds or so easy to bear.

My experience for picking these areas ( except Firebase White which is common knowledge ) is because these areas provide alot of cover as well as limit the entrances you need to keep an eye on (2 and not more than 3)

You can find the info you are looking for at :

http://masseffect.wikia.com/wiki/War_Assets

Basically it is "War Assets" x "Galactic Readiness" = "Effective Military Strenght"

Participation in Galaxy at War is encouraged to achieve the maximum possible Effective Military Strength (over 5000), but, according to preliminary reports, the player can gain high enough Effective Military Strength to have the choice of all possible game endings even when only playing single player. However, it appears that in order to have all endings available from only single play, one needs to have imported their file from Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2, as well as made certain choices that maximize War Assets.

I'm about to start my Insanity run and was wondering if I could get away with using a new character and just doing the main missions?

I don't feel like doing it using my ME3 imported character because I can't change the class.

That demo was way too short in terms of gameplay.
Doesn't really give a feel of the game, unless that was pretty much all there is which would be dissappointing.
Good looking game though and might actually get it...

PS : Sorry and I acknowledge this isn't about ME3

Sadly after capcom's response regarding placing dlc on disc i've decided not to get their games as original purchases.. will wait till they release the usual "ultimate/complete/gold edition" and get that one 2nd hand.. so no dmc/resident evil 6/lost planet 3 for me (originals anyway). As for bioware, mass effect was the only game of theirs that i played (me2 being the first one) and after all this shafting i've gotten from them with me3 i don't see myself buying any bioware games in the future.
*
If the on Disc DLC was replaced with Day 1 downloadable DLC from PSN/XBOX LIVE instead would that be ok?

like the ashes dlc? no that's not ok. The greed of these guys is just becoming too much. the whole idea of dlc is to add more value to an already complete game. these guys are just holding back parts of the game and selling it back later.

I respect your right to your opinion and plenty has been said on the web, but I for one cannot understand what the fuss is all about.

People who think it's a rip-off can vote with their wallets and not buy the product, plain and simple.
Enough people do this, the companies will get the hint. If not enough people do this, then you get the hint that a large number of people don't feel as you do.

I joined a couple of games (GOLD) this weekend and the leaders seem to have set Firebase Dagger as their map of choice against Cerberus.
Guess it's because it is a big map with plenty of cover, clear line of sight and plenty of space to fall back.

Starting to lose my marbles trying to kill the last Marauder on Insanity before the space lift. Forums say aim for the head and fire but somehow I don't seem to be able to pull it off before he kills me.

Anyone got specific tips that they find working consistently?
