Hi guys I plan to buy a 2nd hand 2007 car. Is it true that if the car reaching 10 years the bank won't approve a long loan tenure e.g. 5 years/7 years?

It depend on the bank and what kind of car that you would like to purchase. Because they're the "real" owner according to hire purchase. If they see the car is not worth it, they may reject it.

Dear bro,
Pls advise latest car loan rates. I recently submitted documents to buy Proton Saga SV for RM 36800. I told my Sales Advisor that i prefer repayment 5 years with RM 500 per month max. Downpayment i've no problem how much. Sales Advisor told me that now loan rates is high, around 3.3%. I don't believe them as my company buys BMW 7 series at 1.8%, jaguar at 1.8%, so i think SA is giving bullshit to me. First time buying car under my wife name, she's a housewife but have online business with 2 fashion boutiques. Her accounts are quite strong. Shouldn't we be getting somewhere around 2.6% loan rates for the car loan. Do u know where i can get lowest rates? Thanks

why don't you ask the bank who give your company car loan??
i'm sure they will be happy if you take another loan from them...
and bank don't only judge by how much money do you have in your account...
they also judge by will you become their "reliable and profitable" customer in the future laugh.gif

Hi Sifu,
Need guide, I have plan purchase user myvi 1.5 (2011) for RM38K, submit loan for 40k.
Salary After deduction is RM3.8K
Other loan - Housing (1.25K), Mastercard Installment (RM70).
am I can get loan? and what will be current interest rate?
any advice
*
interest for used car always more higher..
expect around 3.5% to 4.5%..
can you get a loan??it actually depend on the bank itself..
although your monthly loan commitment already around 1/3 of your nett salary as guudence by BNM..
some bank will still give you a loan BUT maybe they need a guarantor..

That day i went public bank in sungai besi to ask about this but they ask me to go another branch or call, end up nobody pick up the phone
*
not every branch can handle hire purchase loan
the easiest way is by calling their customer service first and ask them the nearest branch that handle hire purchase
then you can roughly know how much current interest that they offer...

p/s:
and in some case...
dealer(especially for new car) can get better rate than walk-in customer
but it will not hurt if you survey all option right??? nod.gif

Hi, I'm wondering if I'm getting cheated.
Got quote from CIMB with interest of 4.2%, which is the housing loan rate!
Everyone here seemed to be getting <3%
Still haven't got replies from other banks yet.

Is the high interest rate due to getting too low loan and for short period?
I'm requesting for 20k car loan for 5 years. Would this be a factor?
I don't think my credit rating is so bad that they have to give me such high interest rate, though I do have a house loan.
*
small amount and short tenure loan
hence higher interest rate

maybe u should try other bank
