Ridhuan Tee Abdullah.
But seriously if you want to convert to Islam, better do at oversea. Here in Malaysia, stupid katak Meleis eventhough Islam they still racist against mualaf. Google for a case where a Chinese Muslim want to pay at the mosque but they were denied because they Chinese. That's why mualaf always come back to their old religion. Sad but true. But this is only a small percentage case in Malaysia. The best way in Malaysia for mualaf is go to JAKIM and get a guidance from them. I have a chinese muslim friend. His father is chinese but his mother is malay. He celebrates chinese new year and most of his friends and buddies are chinese. Back to then, he studied agama Islam but he fails almost every time. I guess he more comfortable with chinese culture than his religion.

QUOTE(jonny4 @ Feb 13 2012, 07:42 PM) This guy. Horrible la. Have you seen those Forum Perdana Islam in TV1 before? U look at him and hear his words then u know why even Meleis hate him. His worse trait is cracking nonsense jokes and then expect the guest to LOL with him. Not only that, the way he talks and generally movement its like he almost 99% believe he was born meleis. I occasionally jump to this channel to see how he makes himself stupid when my other shows are in advertisment. |

Islam in China
Throughout the history of Islam in China, Chinese Muslims have influenced the course of Chinese history. Chinese Muslims have been in China for the last 1,400 years of continuous interaction with Chinese society. Muslims live in every region in China, as China is home to a large population of Muslims. QUOTE Recent census counts imply that there may be up to 20 million Muslims in China.A 2009 study done by the Pew Research Center, based on China's census, concluded there are 21,667,000 Muslims in China, accounting for 1.6% of the total population. http://ridhuantee.blogspot.com/ This post has been edited by darium: Feb 13 2012, 08:53 PM |

my friend's mom is a chinese muslim. she's been exiled by her family/relatives and now living with her husband in perak. she's quite a devoted muslim, so i don't think she celebrates cny anymore. some of her sister/brother have converted to islam too (exiled). my friend although mixed hangs out with the malays most of the time. can speak mandarin too.

His worse trait is cracking nonsense jokes and then expect the guest to LOL with him. Not only that, the way he talks and generally movement its like he almost 99% believe he was born meleis. I occasionally jump to this channel to see how he makes himself stupid when my other shows are in advertisment. i stop reading on the first post titles.... |

According to the official census, there were about 40,000 Chinese Muslims in Malaysia as of 2000, mostly converts by request of Malay Muslim family-in-law.

Please google about Hui people.
They are Mainland Chinese Muslims, they were Muslims before Tanah Melayu went from Hinduism to Islam.... BTW the 1st Muslims in Tanah Melayu were Hui Muslims, in fact MACMA was started by the ancestors of Hui Muslims. Probably many have seen her on TV3 news before: Shukreen Ma Pin drills: She is a descendant of the original CHinese Muslims in Malaysia(meaning they were already muslims and are not converts, in fact they are offended whenever ignorant people call them mualafs....) Added on February 14, 2012, 3:17 ambtw there'a famous chinese ustaz (no not ridhuan tee) named ann wan seng, he is also muslim and feels there is no reason to change his name to arabic names. My sister is a Chinese Muslim. She ran away from home during highschool and then converted to Muslim under the influence of her "mak angkat" who is also a Chinese Muslim. She got married to a Malay guy last year. I can tell you that things are awkward when we go out with her family. People walk by also turn around to look twice.
During CNY, things are even more awkward with her wearing tudung surrounded by all Chinese relatives. |

Frankly, I don't mind my sister converting her religion. The problem is that she was still young back then, and her "mak angkat" convinced her to convert without the consent of her real parents. This is like brainwashing which is wrong IMO.
We came into terms with her and her Muslim family, even attended her wedding/kenduri last year along with our relatives. |

In that case, they should prohibit people to convert in the first place. It's like one way ticket where you join the "darkside" and never to return.
I don't know if there is a specific law in Islam which specify you really can't convert to another religion or does it only happen in Malaysia, where they give tons of excuse and procedure to convert until you give up. |

QUOTE(netmatrix2 @ Feb 13 2012, 08:55 PM) Oh this did happen. But the main medias did not report it for obvious reasons. The only news u hear is the Chinese want to build a Chinese mosque. Now doesn't that tell you something of what went on to cause such a thing? That's quite sad Looking at how things are run here, I wouldn't blame people for thinking masuk islam = masuk melayu. There's once I went for a hotel check-in with a chinese muslim friend. After registering and stuff, he went to make a phone call. The staffs at the counter and around him asked me things like, "kawan you cina ke melayu? kenapa dia ada nama melayu". I was thinking like, dude, he has an arabic name la, not malay name |

I know a few Malay friends who don't practise Islamic ways like praying or fasting. They are just Muslim in name only, and deep inside they just wanna have fun like the other races.
Can't say I blame them, Islam does seem to have many restrictions lol. |

My friend is a Muslim Chinese and his name Andrew Tan. He's still a proud Muslim and a proud Chinese. And celebrating Christmas and CNY with his parents - not a problemo for him.

CNY is nothing related to religion. Chinese New Year - the word "Chinese" NOT Buddha New Year. Celebrate by all Chinese people no matter you are Chinese Muslim, Chinese Hindu or Chinese Christian...
I'm a Chinese Muslim. I celebrate CNY and Raya also and also rest of Chinese festival that non religion related. |

celebrate CNY? no problem. I oso celebrate CNY and I'm not even mixed and my wife is not even chinese. its a distant relative thingy and we celebrate it every year.
as long as we are gather to bring together the family ties, there's no problem... the only 1 things that matters is halal food and they respect it very much.. and they came to our house for Raya we do not serve beef and we prepare some vegetarian food for some, very very festive every year for both celebration. what make it weird? ourselves. |

My nenek and auntie are Chinese Muslim. But they are adopted by a Malay family. So they don't really celebrate CNY. But IINM, i had one auntie before, pure chinese, married to my uncle so she converted. I think she did celebrate CNY. I can't remember well cos i was very young that time. But now, after she died, her child, celebrate CNY with her chinese family.
And i had one Chinese Muslim teacher before. Single, idk why covert la. But she does celebrate CNY. She even ordered curry from one of my friends But, CNY is not about religion.. so.. This post has been edited by abang brother: Feb 15 2012, 12:58 AM |

basically, shariah law stated muslim can only marry muslim and ahli kitab,
but i believe the latter option quite rare, only several countries allow like faidzal said.. because most islamic scholar claimed that the original teachings of the religion of the books already corrupted.. but not every country practices shariah law, so muslim and non-muslim marriages is possible.. few pages back someone mentioned muslim can have legal harem..haha to acquire one is already hard, let alone two.. unless u r seriously richfag like salih yaacob.. |

jangan ikut sedap mulut je please
if your not sure or dont understand dont make assumption and spew crap about other people's religion btw in Islam if a son\daughter convert family bond is still there, ties are not cut...still have to take care, respect and can even live together (but with guidelines) |

The problem I see with Muslim harem is that women are usually treated like slaves no matter if you are the official wife or concubine. Malaysia is still OK but men in countries like Pakistan or Afghanistan treat their wives or concubines like dirt. |
