Wow so how does this work?
I know it's gonna be good and more variety of hardware, etc
But if let's say we pay through Paypal or bank in to purchase stuff from their online store, then the product can arrive to our doorstep rite?
but how long will it take you guys think?
Since it's in Malaysia maybe 1-2 days?
idk how this works

not yet they are still using FB to manage their services...my prediction is that newegg.com.my will never open. They will rely on the CPP program on FB for the foreseeable future. sad.gif

Geez.. I wonder what's holding them back.. License or manpower problem?

But IMO, now is the best time to launch their site.

Nope. We'd be happy to supply them with all the brands we have. But I never received a call from them. We are the distributor for Rosewill <Newegg's brand>. In fact, when/If Newegg comes in, it is LOCAL RETAILER and LOCAL DISTY that will butthurt. Do you even know the volume that Newegg has? Even bearing shipping and RMA cost all the way from China/US warehouse, you will still see better prices than all locally distributed goods.

online retailer or competitive priced retailer are less likely to be affected since their price is competitive vs USA ones. The first one will butthurt is I think is Asus local distro. May be AMD CPU ones also.

I personally think >RM100 diff vs the US price is just ridiculous.

AMD is dead regardless.

Asus' operation is a unique one, and yes they will feel it hardcore if Newegg can bypass all disty. The biggest question is whether these brands allow Newegg to do so.

Just imagine Walmart, Futureshop, Best Buy and the likes coming to MY. Seng Heng and etc would have no where to hide. The thing that is stopping them is actually volume and sales in MY. Our country's sales are realllly PUNY compared to other countries. Especially those where Newegg is available.

So true. If the demand is not so many there's no point bring it in.

Makes me wonder then why Newegg is opening up shop here of all places. I am not complaining and I would enjoy for Newegg to be here. But as all of you said the amount of strength that Newegg brings to the competition is massive.
In my opinion I would do what I did for my gaming, when I discovered Play Asia I loved the prices and its massive selection and I used its services to this very day but at the same time I split my purchases with the local retailers here so I still supported the local industry here no matter how small.

So yeah even if...and when Newegg decides to properly open their site I would still buy my things from the local retailers.

On a sidenote whenever I try to access the official site now I get a Server Unavailable page. This can mean one of two things, one they are opening their site very soon and that they are putting the finishing touches to it OR they have completely given up on it and they decided that the CPP program is good enough for their Malaysian arm. tongue.gif
