I heard someone complaining about that suntanned Haqua issue on MFC as well..? Is it a common problem..?

I have yet to receive mine, so I can't say for sure..
*
My Haqua is also a bit sunburnt compared to Elsie, but I'm pretty sure she's original. Her box pictures show her with a lighter skintone (similar to Elsie's), though.

If you're in KL XL-Shop or Gamers Arena should still have her in stock. Gamers is slightly cheaper, although you might want to compare with the XL-Shop version and see if they're both tanned smile.gif

There is a fanmade verison, and a bootleg verison.

Bootleg version:
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SAKURA-Miku-Hat...f#ht_1835wt_905

Observe the box, even though it's recolored, the words on the side still say "Snow-Fairy-type Action Figure!" The nendoroid number is also wrong, 97 belongs to the first Snow Miku.

Hence, it's an Original(?) bootleg, since this nendoroid techinically doesn't exist lol
Actually I don't know what to call it, "original bootleg" seems a bit contradictory tongue.gif

Maybe a "mod"?

I caved in today and bought the Puella Magi Nendoroid Puchi set, mainly because I really wanted Sayaka Miki (can't wait for the Figma, Nendo and PVC to come out - really love her for some reason). Was also quite fond of Homura and Mami, while Kyoko and Madoka are just there to complete the set. I opened the boxes, and the first two I opened were both versions of Sayaka (Magic Girl and student). After 6 boxes, I had both Sayakas, both Homuras and both Mamis. Then came the Madokas (including the, I have to admit, very spiffy secret figure which has her in winged mode) and the Kyokos and finally my unboxing ends with an adorable duplicate Sayaka in student mode. *happy*

My question is - why don't I get luck like that when I'm spending money at the Gashapon machines? sad.gif

The secret one was really easy to spot, no? She's the only one that doesn't make a sound when you shake her box. biggrin.gif

Actually I never shook them or anything. I just started at the bottom left corner and worked my way up the carton. After 2 Sayakas and 1 each of Homura and Mami, I thought I'd start at the other corner to test if the figures were spread out or all the Homuras, Mamis and Sayakas were at the bottom, but they weren't. Picked out Homura and Mami again! Since I bought the whole carton anyway it didn't make any difference, but the luck in finding those I wanted right at the start, then those which I quite liked, followed by those which were there to complete the set, and finally the duplicate right at the end, and even then it was my favourite figure of the 11, was just too much of a coincidence for me! With Gashapons I usually end up getting 3-4 unwanted duplicates before I get the ones I want.

Although I find Madoka to be the least likeable of the Puella Magi, that secret figure was really cool. Thanks for the tip - if I see the boxes for sale loose I can try my luck and get a second one!

Thankfully it's only one duplicate per box, instead of 3 or 4, so buying the whole box is quite an attractive option. Some, like Fate/ Stay Night series don't even have duplicates at all.

Come to think of it, even K-On doesn't have a duplicate, which is also nice. You get the 5 girls in uniform with instruments, 5 girls in swimsuits, 1 extra roasted Azunyan and the secret figure.. quite kind of them, really. With 5 main characters it would have been so easy to do 5+5+secret+duplicate. As much as I love Sayaka Miki, I would have been delighted if her duplicate figure was a Charlotte doll Puchi or something.

Ohh, Dead Master!

I just started watching the anime yesterday, and now I want the whole set. Is it worth hunting down the original BRS figures, or do we foresee that they will release anime versions of the characters? They look quite different - Dead Master in particular.

The anime Dead Master doesn't look like that, though - I think this is the OVA Dead Master.

When you watch the anime you'll find her pretty. I'm watched up the part where Yomi broke down and she just awakened - she looks so cool!

I saw Nendoroid Yui Hirasawa at XL-Shop Times Square today - apparently the staff dug up some old stock in the storeroom and put them out. I picked up Haruhi Suzumiya Syou-shitsu ver and Aragaki Ayase ( I know she's a bit boring in the anime, doesn't have much of a role, and even her Nendo doesn't have many accessories - but she's SO adorable as a Nendo). They even dug up a Figma Kotobuki Tsumugi there (as well as the poor Alter which has been gathering dust on the shelf for the past year). If you're a K-On fan like I am, and haven't yet gotten Nendo Yui or Figma Mugi then XL-Shop Times Square should be your next stop! My Yui is missing the guitar-playing left hand, so if she's still there next week I'll probably snap her up and have two Yuis...

how much are they selling?

I didn't check Figma Mugi. Nendo Yui was either 138 or 148 - can't remember clearly either!! Sorry.

XL Shop have a habit of rounding down to the nearest 10 these days, though, so it'll be either 130 or 140. Or maybe they only do that for regulars...

I am a fan of Bakuman (currently spending way too much money buying the manga up to issue 11) and today I saw Azuki Miho Nendo at XL-Shop. Unlike Muto Ashirogi and Eiji, who I recognised instantly from the picture on the box, I couldn't recognise Miho at all. Any Bakuman fans here who can tell me if it's a good likeness of her in the anime because it looks nothing like what she looks like in the manga. She's cute, but if she's going to be displayed with Muto Ashirogi and Eiji I'd like to know if she'd be recognisable to the anime fans. This probably means that Miyoshi (who I'm really looking forward to) won't look like her goofy manga self either... but the girls in Bakuman are all drawn quite uniquely, I guess. Iwase, if they make her, will probably the only one who'd translate well from manga to Nendo.

What is AFA, by the way? Is it in KL, and is it a good place to buy Nendos?

Just found the AFA website for this weekend at PWTC. Will they be selling things like Figmas and Nendos there? I noted that they have a "stop piracy" section where you can purchase stuff. Maybe I'll be able to get original versions of some of my favourite animes!

Now have to convince the wife to let me go...

I saw Nendo Yui and Mugi Live Stage set for RM465.. took all my willpower to resist buying it - they were SO adorable!! It helped that they didn't have the other set for sale at the same time as a pair otherwise sure koyak. So many Nendos I'd never seen before but none which I really wanted, though. Picked up Sayaka Miki and Kyouko Sakura Figmas, though - my Figma Puella Magi are now complete!

Not sure if I should be happy or disappointed that I didn't recognise 99% of the cosplayers over there - maybe I don't watch as much anime as my wife thinks I do! The one who really stood out was Grell Sutcliffe - the cosplayer looked almost exactly like him. I wanted to tell him how good the likeness was, but I didn't since it might be construed as an insult to his looks! smile.gif

There's a Kurisu and Mayuri 2-pack, with pom-poms, iirc. I didn't see any Cheerful merchandise when I was there, but then I only arrived at around 3.30pm.
