Come on Arsenal! Arsene has gone for experience this time around with Rosicky and Benayoun in the team. No Ramsey though, not even on the bench, hope he isn't injured.
Anyway some pics to add some spice to the NLD! ![]() ![]() |

QUOTE(IsoZ @ Feb 26 2012, 10:23 PM) apart from defensive mistake resulting 1st goal.. our performance is good tonight.. if we continue this form on 2nd half we might sneak another goal or 2 .. We have been brilliant from midfield to attack. But unless we can get a firmer grip on this I still fancy Tottenham to score against us. Each time they attack they look really dangerous. The outcome of this game depends on how well we can pull ourselves together defensively in the 2nd half. |

QUOTE(kanelee @ Feb 27 2012, 12:06 AM) I checked premierleague.com, official BPL site and it says there its 4 yellow cards for RVP? Not sure if its updated though but it should be because in terms of goal count and Arsenal results and what not have all been updated. Doubt they will miss recording RVP's yellow card? |

QUOTE(kanelee @ Feb 27 2012, 01:01 AM) I am not too sure also. cause when I checked at Arsenal.com, RvP had already got like 4 yellow cards (Sunderland home, Chelsea away, Aston away and MU home) prior to this match. then today he got another one, though they did not record this yellow card despite them already updating the goals count or so I hope so too man because we are royally f***ed in our attacking department against Liverpool if he is suspended. And to think he got the yellow today for kicking the ball away. Really stupid. |

QUOTE(shark7 @ Feb 27 2012, 01:06 AM) meaning he cnnt play againys liverpool??? And I hope your fingers get injured so you couldn't type anymore rubbish like that.rvp do stupid things sometimes .. btw i hope ramsey injured longer .. even benayoun better than him So how did that feel? Come on man you don't have to stoop so low and wish injury on another human being. What more against a player from the team you support. Besides Benayoun played in a position today where Ramsey might not even play in his life which is "Left winger". |

Sigh Rosicky and Vermaelen big doubts for Liverpool...you just can't make our luck up.
If this is the case Gervinho or Ox could come in on the left hand side and move Yossi to the middle. Vermaelen though will be a big miss..... |

Van Persie in doubt for friendly QUOTE Van Persie sat out the last 10 minutes of Holland's hour-long training session at Wembley after aggravating the problem, which he originally suffered in the Arsenal's 5-2 win over Tottenham on Sunday. The 28-year-old, who has been in scintillating form this year, appeared in discomfort towards the end of the session and missed an eight-a-side practice match at England's national stadium in north London. Despite the scare, Van Marwijk remains hopeful the striker will feature. "We will have to wait and see but I don't think it's too serious. I am optimistic he will play," Van Marwijk said. Arsenal were aware Van Persie had picked up an injury, although they released him for international duty as they thought it was only minor. Despite Van Marwijk's insistence that the injury does not appear serious, the news will surely prove to be a worrying development for Arsene Wenger, who has heavily relied upon the Dutchman this season. "Robin is in great form," said Van Marwijk. "It's a little bit different this season with Robin. He is scoring a lot of goals now. He is now a centre-forward. "Normally he is a player who plays in combination, with others. He did that with Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri but now he plays very deep as a striker. He has the quality to score goals." Holland cruised through their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign, racking up nine wins out of a possible 10 to top their group ahead of Sweden. England, on the other hand, have endured a troubled run-up to tomorrow's game. The Three Lions are without a full-time head coach following the resignation of Fabio Capello, they do not have a permanent captain, and their squad has been ravaged by injury. Interim head coach Stuart Pearce has seen five players - Wayne Rooney, Tom Cleverley, Kyle Walker, Glen Johnson and Darren Bent - pull out of the game. The three strikers Pearce has available have only seven caps between them, but Van Marwijk has vowed not to under-estimate the home side tomorrow evening. "I am a big fan of England. They were really unlucky against Germany at the World Cup. They were unlucky not to qualify for the semi-finals," Van Marwijk said. "They have a lot of good, fast, powerful players so we will not under-estimate them tomorrow." Holland's excellent qualifying campaign for Euro 2012 has been born of a series of impressive fluent attacking displays typical of the 'total football' ethos employed by the legendary Dutch team of the 1970s and 1980s. The performances have been in complete contrast to the one Holland produced in the 2010 World Cup final in South Africa, when they employed aggressive tactics in an attempt to stop Spain - a move that ended in failure. Van Marwijk has promised the fans who turn up at Wembley that they will be treated to a splendid display of attacking football. "The performance is more important than the result for us tomorrow," he said. "We want to play in the Dutch way. We want to win but it's more important that we are ready when the Euros come around." Van Marwijk could hand debuts to Ola John and Luciano Narsingh, but Mark van Bommel is another doubt with a knee injury. Sauce |

QUOTE(Quick` @ Mar 1 2012, 05:29 AM) this is good news True that but to still be able to score 15 and assist 4 in 19 with mediocre teammates, pretty darn good if you ask me.and England is losing as well,Double gooding Anyway so do you guys know Podolski made 19th appearance this season for fc koln 15 goals, 4 assist pretty impressive, but yeah i know EPL is a whole different thing. Which makes all the posts above criticising his form funny when I can bet they have hardly seen as much as Podolski's shadow playing for more than a minute. |

QUOTE(Liuism @ Mar 2 2012, 12:16 PM) amazing players can speak so many languages, but most importantly they play with their feet instead of using mouth I disagree. their mouths are just as important as their feet IMO. In any team sport and football is no exception, communication is just as important as anything else, especially in defense. And to be able to communicate effectively, the most important thing is to first be able to speak a common language. So often we have seen how poor communication can lead to crappy offside traps playing opponents onside, players getting dispossessed from behind because his teammate didn't give a shout that there is an opponent behind, own goals or poor clearances because the keeper didn't tell their defenders to leave the ball or chances wasted because strikers in great scoring positions didn't shout for the ball from his teammate to play him through just to name a few. |

Arsene has confirmed in his press conference that Vermaelen and RVP both reported back from international duty with problems, ankle and groin problem respectively. Rosicky also has a groin problem but should be able to play against Liverpool.
And to think with an injury Vermaelen was still forced to play a full 90 minutes with 10 - 20 mins of those with 10 man. Absolutely ridiculous. Vermaelen and RVP will both be assessed hence doubtful. Fingers crossed they will be fit for the trip to Anfield. |

QUOTE(leaF @ Mar 2 2012, 10:29 PM) in liverpool we have pepe reina who is known as a good motivator , that is why ppl always rate his influence in the dressing room and ability to organise the defense in front of him more than his agility. This is the factor I think is important for a gk because from a gk position you can actually see the style and possession of the opposition. Its not only important for a GK, effective communication is just as important in any other parts of the pitch. |

I don't know why people are making such a big deal about the dive. There was contact, albeit not much and if any contact is felt in the box, strikers WILL go down and I dare say 99% of strikers in world football will make the most of it.
It does leave a sour taste in the mouth but Eduardo has done it, Pires has done it and you guys were not complaining back then. Don't get me wrong I am not saying Suarez is right but this thing is just being blown out of proportion. Note: This is just solely on the penalty incident and it doesn't take away the fact that some of Suarez's theatrics throughout the game has been nothing but disgraceful. Bale's last week was far worst IMO Totally no contact but fell as though being shot. |

QUOTE(Quick` @ Mar 4 2012, 02:25 PM) Don't start it I don't know how it can be classified as a dive when there is indeed contact. Whether or not he could have stayed on his feet even after that touch we will never know. At the end of the day: contact in the box > keeper gets nothing of the ball > player goes down > penalty. Simple as that.this +1 P/S: sigheart well, yeah bale dived and he stood up asking for a penalty last week it doesn't help with this week suarez doing almost the same thing, this time with an added invisible hammer crush so yeh, guess that's the reason why some of us got a lil hype up lol but no worries, time will cool us all down or wait till the day our players are the one to do so, Nyahahaha My point here is what Suarez did to get the penalty is normal and the reaction to that of everyone on here is blown out of proportion. Eduardo has done it, Pires has done it and a gazillion more strikers in world football has done it. I do agree though his invisible hammer crush theatrics after being felled is disgraceful. Oh well, not that it matters as we've won |

QUOTE(Quick` @ Mar 4 2012, 02:59 PM) from the ultra zoom replay looks like got no contact la There was. From the ultra slow mo zoom in you can see a clear shake on Suarez's calf muscle indicating impact when Chesney made contact. It was minimal but there still was to the shin. its either zero contact or to lil at all to be given a penalty and when it's either one of the above, perhaps its more off a dive lor yea i know our players have done it before, but right now the topic are on the ones we kena from last week to this week, accumulative hatred against diving penalty i guess Suarez did it at the wrong time against us, so i understand the frustration of some here imagine if we "LOSE" the game based on last week bale thingy and this week suarez thingy then it's a complete different story d! but like you said doesn't matter la, we won anyways The main thing here is our keeper got nothing of the ball, no matter how minimal when contact is made and the player goes down it is still a foul by the keeper. Whether the player can stay on his feet and play on is a different subject altogether and one that we will never know. Well when your own players do it as well you have to be prepared to win some and lose some. Its part and parcel of football anyway. This post has been edited by sigheart: Mar 4 2012, 03:45 PM |
