Details of the complaint :
well peter been nice up till today.
i have been patience with peter till now so as my dad.

originally in the deal peter promise me that the item is a new stock + android 4.0 ICS update firmware.
as soon as i got home i plug in to tv - check tv - firmware say android 2.3
dissapointed a little bit but than to make it even more upset the wifi not working.

on the 21st january 2012 bought the noontec from him at the above mention COD.
got home - connect to tv - it works - try to connect to wifi - receive wifi error message.

so i call him and text him. since its the holiday - chinese new year - i will be understanding tp him.
he reply my text with his technician guy will look into it and have answer for the next day. he say that the technician guy is malay so not on holiday.
i was a lil relief but than come next day no answer from technician guy - he reply my text saying he is in singapore.

me being understanding still till now.
my parent is so frust about the situation.
how can a person cheat a handicap person.

on the 9th february 2012
texted peter informing him that parent is upset about the whole deal and that he either refund of replace unit with brand new and its not been able to use from day one.
he say ok meet him at amcorp mall as he is working.
since am hamdicap its hard to move and parents are busy with work.
so dad was like ok will make time.
was at amcorp mall at around 2pm to 3pm
but he reply my text earlier saying that he cant make it and that to meet up tonight.
so again i be nice and say ok no worries.
when night come peter say that he will make his way with his friend car and will call when he hit the highway.
knowing that i requested dad to drive me to klcc and wait for him but he FFK.

PETER I CANT BELIEVE U FFK ME.
dude am handicap and have try so many ways to be civilise about how unfair u have been.

all am asking for is a refund or replacement unit.

now u have to come over to my place.

Since the buyer already given you the options of either refund or exchange to a working unit,and you did agreed on exchanging for a new unit earlier on.Why not,just solve the matter already.

Act as a professional seller,do not mix anger and personal issues with your business.Just because the buyer might being over exaggerated in the sms earlier on,you still have to accept the fact that the item is faulty and exchange it for a working unit.

Why don't you meet him , and check the unit, if you think it is perfectly working then no problem, but if the Wifi is not working then you either replace the unit or refund the money....

Good that you guys managed to come to an agreement. Hopefully the seller would fulfill his promise and be able to help the buyer in troubleshooting his device.

Sometimes it could be due to the router settings as well. My Streak sometimes is unable to connect to a wifi network at home and then i find out that the router / phone is acting up. Anyways, as the seller he should know better. If the problem is indeed with the device, then it would be very nice of the seller to replace it on the spot with a brand new unit. After all, there will always be a loss in business. Its better to suffer a small loss than the loss of ones reputation and reliability.

Im using noontec a9 myself and have tried kworld M300, by far it's better than the M300

- The OS will always be 2.3 for now as there's no update yet

- The latest firmware update available is 1.2.04 compatible to Flash 11 as opposed to the 1.1.06 which only supports flash 10.3. (i think this is where the seller got confused between the OS and firmware)

- the built-in wifi really sucks bigtime as it always brings out error message, i have FTTH service hence the noontec box is connected via the LAN ethernet cable

I suggest do not use the built-in wifi as although wi-fi signal in my house is wonderful, still it's not able to detect

My opinion is that noontec a9 set you bought from the seller is not faulty at all if you are complaining based on both issues above

Afaik you cannot escape from having wifi problem on this non-branded android device because most of them are using knock-off wifi dongle.

I repaired a few of the units and some of the units are really terrible in terms of the quality of the assembly. You can either take apart the unit and readjust the position of the wifi dongle so it stays closer to the top of the unit.It works sometimes.

You can try using the ethernet LAN. Its plug and play and does not have connection issues.

i have invest in the pc to pc cable and a sexy all alu ext hdd for it but in vain.

yeah i know the lan cable thingy. yeah i try that it works after few tries.

pls to be sure is it searchable ur wifi access point or other acceess point ??? if can find but cannot connect it mayb incompatible issue .. try use tp-link product .. good and support most china gadgets
