Hello guys.

I've had an LX5 since early last year. Just saw this thread.

Just a question, does anyone know where to buy video out cable for the LX5? Does it even exist? as in change the display to a monitor instead of viewing on the LCD screen.

Maybe i asked the wrong question.

Does the cable that comes with the camera supports live view on a monitor?

Not view the already taken video, but viewing the video itself being taken on a monitor screen.

Ah i know what you mean, unfortunately i tried it too but doesn't work. You're tryingto use the lx5 as a live feed source?  It's only able to playback what has been recorded. Haven't been able to find out how o do it... ;(

The port under the hotshoe cover should be able to feed video since it supports the digital view finder. Just dunno where to get that cable. rclxub.gif

just found this....

http://arch.ced.berkeley.edu/kap/discuss/c...0&page=1#Item_0

and it works!!!

connect the LX5 to TV/video in using the supplied AV cable.

Then put the camera into iA mode, and press and hold the delete/Q. menu button until you hear a sound.

Then whatever you see on the LCD should appear on your TV/projector/whatever external display you have connected. It seems to work in any mode, but iA mode allows you to press display and cancel out all OSD so it looks much better when used for live video feed.

Cool feature!! Only drawback is it's just using standard composite cable video out, so no HD output....
