Some top business schools does not require degree but instead requires applicants to have really unique experience (think really successful startups like facebook or charity founder etc) or is at very high managerial position ie. those guys that don't really need MBAs... so it's a catch-22...

IMO, you shouldn't be looking at professional qualifications now but rather your 1st degree. You should be aiming for the best university for your degree and after that, you won't need any other qualification unless it's the license required for your job or you just want to take it for fun.

Think of it this way, everyone with a degree, whether from a no name college to world renowned Harvard can take ACCA and CFA. But how many people can actually enter Harvard and be top of their class?

What about degree from University of Oxford Brookes? Of course I'll get the degree. But I just wanna know where is the best for ACCA/CFA

that is like a mickey mouse degree. However, if you do take acca route, pls take the obu degree as it is still a degree nonethless and would helpful in fulfillinf the basic requirements of having a degree for certain postgrad course and employment in certain firms.

mickey mouse degree. means it's nothing so great?
If I take ICAEW, then i won't even have to chance to take the degree?

yup. that's the downside to taking icaew. not to mention the length of the programme and you dependence on your ATE. if they sack you within the the 3 years, you're quite screwed
*
LOL> They won't sack you without any reason what. I'll of course behave myself what. But ICAEW is more prestigious.

Relating to the CFA Program only.

If you're in Malaysia, the course providers are:
1) Kasturi (now Malvern International College)
2) Noesis Ex Ed
3) Sunway College
4) MRR Consulting (Penang)

Kasturi & Noesis have been around for the past few years while Sunway's tuition is still new and no passing rates have been reported by them. As of Dec 2011, Noesis's Level 1 passing rate is 50% (against Global average passing rate of 38%). Not too sure about Kasturi's passing rate. By the way, I'm a Noesis student. Not much idea about MRR Consulting (based in Penang).

If you're in Singapore, the famous tuition providers are Kaplan & 7City. Kaplan will be the more popular choice in SG, UK & US.

With that aside, complete your degree or ACCA first. Once you are near to completion and you are still interested in pursuing the CFA program, then start surveying around the market for the more successful tuition providers (there could be new start-ups a few years from now).

Nanyang is not a top MBA. I'm thinking more like INSEAD.

You do MBA to network. Nanyang does not have the proper signalling value and hence won't have that many outstanding candidates.

Some students at INSEAD will have average background sure, but you are also more likely to work alongside very very talented individuals.

Also, INSEAD is a hothouse for management consultancies. It's much easier to get interviews at MBB consultancies with INSEAD on your CV rather than Nanyang. Greater mobility as well.

Only do MBA if it's a globally recognizable name (within business community).

Hi, I need to ask ur opinion. if i got a obu degree with acca and cfa, u think i'd make the cut for the academic requirements portion for mba in INSEAD?
*
They look at many aspects of your application, prior academic achievement is only one of them.

I don't think you will be disadvantaged but admission committee might question why you need to do MBA considering you have two professional qualifications already ie. do you want to change industry and move into consulting, start a new business etc etc

A lot of people use MBA to change careers/move into different industries...

The most important part of application is your work experience and extracurriculars. Some business school put huge emphasis on CGPA though... eg for Stanford it will be extremely difficult to get into without CGPA of more than 3.50 and minimum 700 GMAT...

erm, normal in the sense is it on par with monash, nottingham (ie. top 200) or normal foreign or normal local (ie. sunway/taylors). which of this league is it in? lol.. sorry for the question.. really wanna assess my chance of getting in a top uni for postgrad
*
It doesn't matter. There are people on his course from other asian countries who came from unis you and I have never heard of.

The important thing is your ranking in class. If you came first in a class of 300 students for example, it speaks volume.
