By the way, test drove accord 2.0 with my SA yesterday. Felt the engine very good / quiet and suitable for family man. May not powerful as civic 2.0. (power to weight ratio)
NVH oso improved a lot with ASC.
The reason i choose accord compare to civic & new altis,
1. New model. Next gen maybe after 5-6years.
2. Led running daylight. Trend?
3. Spacious
4. 8'' i-MID with Honda satellite link (I like it)
5. Touch screen dvd/radio/tuner/phone
6. Rear air cond vent
7. Rear seat can split
8. Gorgeous dashboard
9. Hill assist
10. Etc

Note: need help, who know any accord club in malaysia? Mr Google cannot find.

good point you got there... but for me, i think my look is still too boyish... even my parents and siblings also can't accept i'm driving a accord around at my age... LOL...

OOT a bit, the new accord looks less aggressive compare to the previous gen, but it definitely looks more elegant... thumbup.gif

same to civic fb, the longer i stare on it... the more i like it wub.gif

U test drive before? How's the power compare to Civic 1.8 and 2.0?
*
ofcourse... 2.0 is definitely out of my scope because of the fuel consumption... i experienced it with my family fd2 2.0...

as for hybrid vs 1.8, i would say the paper fact by honda is quite true... the torque of the hybrid and 1.8 is almost the same, but lose in top speed which is very logic for a 1.5 engine vs 1.8 engine...

and for the car accelerate from full stop, yes... hybrid move slower than the 1.8 due to the cvt transmission but after cruise above 20km/h, u hardly find the difference in terms of power of picking up... this is where IMA technology kick in blush.gif

another important fact i opt for hybrid over 1.8 is the specs, hybrid equipped with push/start button, leather seat, led tail lamp, duck tail, cruise control, reverse camera... and nonetheless, fc which is better than the city... icon_rolleyes.gif

15 rim and 2 brake disc is a bit let down for me but not significant... even my SA tell me, current civic FB not much problem... but if really want to compare, the 1.8 suprisingly have more problem than the hybrid especially sensor and iMID problem... i not sure how true it is , but is it because of CKD? hmm.gif

hmmm.... just sharing some opinions, hope it does help u make up your mind... u are planning to get an FB as well?

To me it is either 2.0, or Hybrid. The 1.8 is always fell away somewhere. To me for Civic FB, keep it simple as I have seen a lot with weird bodykit. I enjoy looking at clean well detailied and kept car.

Spend the money on elsewhere, better tires and rims, better brakes, transmission cooler etc.
*
hi bro... nice to have you here...

for bodykits, modulo still the best for me smile.gif

and i agree with you, 1.8s is really kinda empty in terms of spec... perhaps, maybe next year hybrid price increase by remove tax exemption and will help to push up the sales of 1.8s again hmm.gif

you see... there are actually saying the 2.0 no power with the econ mode on (time frame 2:49 to be precise)...

i have nothing left to say when the so called test drive done in an eco mode, probably they din realise and expect the car to be powerful in eco mode also lar... rclxms.gif

ECO mode only slows down the throttle response, not the engine output per RPM.

If you rev the engine to it's powerband you should get the same performance with ECO mode on and off. If you watch the video he has revved it to 5-6k RPM which is well within the powerband, that's why he complained there is no power....no "VTEC".
*
are you driving a civic or have test drive on one unit? i guess it does affect, correct me if i'm wrong..

no offense bro... i don't think the eco mode is just slow down the throttle response...

as for me, the press on eco mode did make my civic hybrid become only a slightly powerful car than a myvi... without eco mode, i don't see a different when picking up compare to the 1.8...

The test done without Bias.
Paul Tan also involved in the test.
Do u think they tested performance by Eco Mode?
I don't think they are NOT aware of eco mode!
Performance test mean, the activated all the performance features in the machine!
Remember the Harvinder said:
Honda Civic is the 1st choice.....
The problem is, it doesnt feel like that (performance) anymore...
Engine (SOHC)  is the weakers here....
& the handling is NOT that GOOD as well,
It Doesn't feel like Civic should feel like
Not exciting!
I drive Civic but Dont feel like Civic (Gen9 No Civic performance feel) Bcoz can't feel VTEC Power...
I am not geeting anything from the car...(when he press speed pedal)

Paul Tan
Civic featuristic dashboad.. by look at it, hard to lose but.....
Design look like came from the 90s,
Hard plastic, not enough sound profing,
The best thing is seats are comfort....

I read this in US report when they 1st launched there

Without bias? they are famous of fancy about toyota cars... try follow their blog and you will know...
i dowan to argue anymore since u said they are aware of the eco mode, i really believe they are testing the car in eco mode... i doesn't tell but the video ...
enjoy commenting notworthy.gif
