well..nothing much has changed. the starting line-up was odd but it kind of gives u an idea of the players who are in support or 'neutral' towards AVB and the ones who aren't really into his 'project.' it took balls to field that team with complete disregard for player reputation, its just too bad the ones selected couldn't reward the manager's faith.

we were lucky to take the lead, but my oh my individual defensive mistakes are becoming our main theme for this season. all three of them were a direct result of shambolic defending i.e : meireles inexplicably moving away from lavezzi as he closed down on goal, ivanovic ball watching as cavani ghosted past him and cech (i'm apportioning more blame to our no.1 instead of the much maligned luiz) went for a stroll towards cavani when the player didn't even have a clear run at goal. this caused luiz to panic as a full 'swing' clearance could've easily ricocheted off cavani and chocked down as a ridiculous own goal. if cech stayed calm and on his line, i'm pretty sure luiz would've dealt with the situation or prevented cavani from having a clear shot at the very least.

not much joy from ramires, didier, or meireles, but mata and studge did okay i guess. there was one pivotal moment when we had a chance to get a second away goal as mata broke into the box but chose to have a weak shot, instead of squaring for an unmarked danny. we're always saying danny's selfish but i was 100% sure mata was going to pass it..sigh. that was the turning point in the game as cavani made it 2-1 not long after. their third goal was a sickening blow as we had them quaking in their boots with relentless pressure but failed to make good use of it. in the end it could've been worse as ashley cleared off the line and i'm surprised the linesman didn't flag for a goal just to spite us. as it stands a 2-0 win would do it at the bridge and with their sloppy defending its definitely possible.

however as i've spoken about managing expectations before, my advice will remain the same. don't expect us to go through. if we do, well that's great. if we don't then it only means less games and more energy to secure a spot in that darned competition next year.

bolton next! i'll be the first to call for nando to be back in the starting line-up, on grounds of his superb assisting ability! 

Actually what makes u think crespo in same category as sheva and torres??

As far as I recall, crespo was quite a success at chelsea...scoring a lot of important goals....but somehow the manager at that time (mourinho i think) not too fancy with him......

Marc Wilmots is absolutely correct! The club has this shitty attitude where they like to grab potential talented youngster, warm the bench or let them rot in the reserves.

Sad if this is happening. Abramovich bought Shevchenko but he flop and years later he brought Carlo Ancelotti (the manager who managed Sheva in AC Milan). Now he bought Torres and the result was the same with Sheva but Torres is the worst investment so far. Now he's rumoured to bring his former manager, the fat Spanish waiter, Benitez......
