my very first phone was an Ericsson 788
at that time not many people have a hp there was practically no one to call 
can't do  on the phone, and nobody will take the phone out and swype here swype there all the time 
and before that when i was studying in overseas, we used to use pagers
i think kids nowadays don't even know what a pager is

can't comment on XO skins
but i'm now using Rearth Ringke slim season 1, and i love it cuz:
1) it adds very minimal width and bulk to the phone, virtually unnoticeable
2) the slight bulk it added to makes the phone perfect to hold
3) phone won't slip, very good grip
4) matte surface, no dirty fingerprint leftovers

overall, i think it is a good purchase
