true. get a 8 years old car. after 2 years when Coe expired get another 8 years old car. keep repeating till Coe drop then buy new car
*
best is 2006/07 car... whereby the COE is the lowest.. so depreciation is the lowest... get a car where the COE is low and the OMV is high... therefore u use till COE habis, overall depreciation is low

QUOTE(AtMostFear @ Feb 25 2012, 03:39 PM)
hey guys, in order to be eligible for EP the salary offered must be at least $3k right. so what happens if the company offers lower than that? are there any other types of EP?
*
nope.. sometimes lower also can, but chances of being rejected is higher.. there's a few type but for ep lowest is 3k

i thought of that too, actually you see those 2nd hand cars with 4-5 years left of COE can get for cheap one. But then maintenance costs + parking costs + all that ... calculate liao then decide occasional taxi ride still WAY cheaper biggrin.gif
*
yea lor.. if calc until like that pub transportation is always cheaper ^^

Public transport is good for saving money for the first few years of working. Many non-KL ppl working in KL couldn't save. Ppl see KL brats who lives in parent's house like how you see Sg young ppl driving papa's Toyota Wish to work.

I would rather ride a bicycle then riding motorcycle in Sg. Sg drivers are nuts.
*
i agree with u on the 1st paragraph.. but 2nd paragraph... bic can only take u so far... and u cant ride it on a highway, lets say pie/sle

sg drivers are not nuts, just that their cars are more powerful...

The rules for Malaysian is, For every 90 days, you can stay in Singapore for 60 days. I actually called up ICA and asked them about this.
So u can stay in Singapore for 30 days, then exit and enter again for 30 days, if u exit and want to enter again, they won't let u in until u left Singapore for a month. For my case, Coz i stay in JB, so i can in out everyday, but they will calculate how many days I have entered, so they won't give you more than 60 days for every 90 days. that's what ICA told me. For your case, its easier for them to manage.
For cases like me its a little bit hard because they need to calculate the stamps 1 by 1 and i can say most of the time they don't calculate and just let u go through.

my supervisor travels in and out of sg during weekdays leh... he dont have any work pass, how can leh?

How do NTUC know how much you earn after you sign policy?

If Canadian got cancer their gov cover all their medical expenses, is Singaporean worth as much?

I saw a few cancer cases, if you are poor you better think thice. The usual insurance coverage is less than a typical cancer bill. It is too expensive to be sick in SG.  Look at the $39milhome of a famous female doc, you could guess where major part of your insurance money goes.
*
it is self declaration... like if lets say you make more than that automatically you dont qualify.. so if u lie and still pay the premium.. when it comes to claims, they find out... then nothing for you.. just like how you declare previous illnesses and smoking

hayar.. canada diff la, that 1 welfare state la.. will nvr happen in sg, sg got nuts so everybody got to work hard... canada got vast amount of land, pop so low... just like aus.. all they need to do is to dig up some soil/plant something then there's $$$ already

Check the TnC before you sign. I never have to declare my earning or the insurance co will decide on payout based on my latest income status. I also have the NTUC medisheild, the Normal rate for PR went up a few round compare to SG over the last few years.  The offer from GOV is not significantly cheaper than what I pay for each family members. About 100+ each per year. Of course the coverage and rider plan may differ.

Your company provide insurance?
*
hayar.. if u get the one for lower income of course have to la... normal insurance no1 cares how much u make as long you pay doh.gif

yeaps, but there's a lot of diff type of insurance lor...

accident n medical is for every employee but since i travel very often.. there's for lost of income n also mishap overseas..

my own i think parents pay for my life insurance..

I went to Funan to get iPhone accessories with the IT show pamphlets in hand. The shops in Funan were quite willing to give me whatever IT show deal their booth in Suntec had. That's been my experience every year... the "low performing staff" who are left to man the shop in Funan or Sim Lim (when their "high performing colleagues" go to the IT show) - are always ever willing to do a deal.

the same as msia.. actually those at the shop should give even cheaper, considering they dont have to shift it around..

yea, price solutions is the subsidiary that houses all the retail sales staff. scope international is the subsidiary that houses all the ops staff. scb create these subs cos the subsidiary != bank therefore don't have bank benefits or unions tongue.gif
*
whoa, no wonder scb can make so much profit... by being el cheapo... lol, at least better than hsbc by retrenching...

neway, one way to make quick bucks is to apply for all these cards.... if each card give u $80, 2 card per bank... apply at 10 banks = $1600 profits?

also they give this credit/cash line... $3k free interest for 3 years, only small principal repayment per month and no processing fee... apply 10 banks = $30k... use to invest = profits?
