Hi

I would like to set up a mini marine fish and coral aquarium for my new house. Well i wanted the spec to be small (<2ft) of in a nano tube.

I prefer a simple and look nice. by the way for example if i have to set up the aquarium as the photo below, how much should i allocate my budget?

it will cost you more than 1k for sure. setup a new marine tank for beginner is easy. but hard to take care off. plus you need to know how to handling them. unless you pay someone familiarize with marine life keeping. and..you need to change the water regularly. hehehe...

if you're staying in KL, go to jalan pasar at pudu.there's marine shop located beside the temple / behind post office.

can get really cheap and good stuff from there.full set won't be over rm100 for sure (tank, filter, light, bedding, deco etc)

tht's the cheapest for your hardware at least.for those coral and fishes, need to ask other place

they have move to a few clicks away as the whole shoplot is being renovate..

And, if ure gettin a setup below rm100, the setup wont have any chillers means u wont be having any corals..since corals need cooler temperature..and not having a cool water temperature for the fish also means the fish will not display fine and good colouration..yes, they will not die at temperature of 28-30..

25 - 27 would be a better range..

One question, do u have any experience in fish keeping? The more basic water chemistry will be freshwater tank..while marine tank are much complicated on a different level compare to freshwater tank..

I dont think u can get a skimmer with the 100 budget, for starter u need test kits for ammonia, kh, nitrate and etc which already cost u 100++.

For nano tank, protein skimmer, lighting, hang filter a must roughly cost you 300 not include live rock, sand, bacteria solution for the tank water.
