Last Friday.. I went and port my number from U Mobile to DiGi..I was told by the staff serving me(No.1) that the process takes up to 24 hours if not 2 days maximum.. Okay.. 2 Days I can wait and besides, the staff was friendly and all and I was happy..
My U Mobile was still active on Saturday and on Sunday while expecting my U Mobile to loose its signal and pop in my DiGi SIM.. I got an unexpected SMS saying that my request was denied..
I know im not in any contract with U Mobile nor do I have any outstanding or overdue payment or blacklist.. Confused.. I called up DiGi customer service careline at 8.3x PM which they boast to have 24 hour support on their website.. No one answered
Monday 11.xx AM I went to the center and have the staff there re-submit my application.. Again the staff was friendly and I was a little less disappointed.. The staff(No.3) told me that it should be activated tonight.. I waited till 8.xx PM and still no changes.. U Mobile still active.. Again I use my friend's account to use DChat.. This time, this fellow is ironic(No.4) telling me that my request was denied again because of my IC and he requested my passport to be brought along with me to the center tomorrow as a "humble request for verification"(yes he said that! I swear on my mother's name!) I was like.. WTF? Passport?? Might as well bring along my birthcert and my parents while Im at it..
Today(Tuesday) at 11.xx AM again I visited DiGi.. The same staff(No.3) greeted me and ask if my line is activated. If its activated, then I wouldn't come again with a furious face right Captain Obvious? After explaining everything the DChat fellow(No.4) told me to do.. He laughed and said its an impossible request.. Right away he took out his phone, called someone(im guessing its DiGi internal someone) and after he hung up he told me "worry not, your line will be activated within 2 hours" with a confidence face and told me I never have to return again..
Guess what happens after 2 hours? I know you know it.. So I called the customer service to speak with them verbally this time.. To my surprise.. someone actually came to my call.. After requesting for a status check, Customer Service personal(No.5) told me that its estimated that my line would be activated by 3PM.. In my mind I thought the wait is over at last..
AFTER 3 PM.. THE FURIOUS ME STILL SAW LINES ON UMOBILE AND NONE ON DiGi!!!! CALLED UP THE CENTER AGAIN FOR 10-20 TIMES UNTIL SOMEONE PICKED UP.. THIS TIME CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONAL(no.6) TOLD ME THAT MY STATUS IS STILL IN PENDING AND THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL AN ESTIMATED TIME AND SAID WHAT CS(no.5) TOLD ME IS IMPOSSIBLE AND ASKS ME TO WAIT FOR 3-7 WORKING DAYS!!
God damn..
Website said : 24 Hours
No.1 said : 24 hours to 48 Hours
No.2 said : IC verification was rejected
No.3 said : Within 2 Hours and No.4's request was insane and its an impossible request
No.4 said : Bring along passport as a "humble request for verification" because my IC verification was rejected
No.5 said : Estimated to be activated by 3PM(Tuesday)
No.6 said : What No.5 said is impossible and there's no way of knowing when my line would be activated and asks me to wait 3-7 days..
I've paid RM48 upfront payment to DiGi and I need to continue paying U Mobile because my line is still active.. Guess a student like me is gonna eat roti canai x2 for the whole of February eh?
Anyone ported to DiGi and experienced something better, similar or worse than me? mind sharing?
