Yup, I'm using this now as suggested by you

But the problem is sometimes I won't be able to see the full video (i.e. it ends prematurely) and it requires VLC to play.

i use ffdshow+mpc to play flv.
open up ffdshow video decoder config, at codecs set flv1 from disabled to libavcodec. for mpc, at formats option, tick flash video file.

Just use that link. And dl the video as .flv and convert to avi or what format. That's what i do

To add some information here, actually the Video stopped prematurely was because I was using VLC

Changed to a free and simple FLV player and it works flawlessly

They also provide firefox plugin to download from the direct link and then just need to change the extention name to flv, more easy less time

If wanna download the video clip, can try to right click and then click view source.
From the code, find out the Video ID of the video.
After that, refer to this>>http://www.tian.cc/2005/11/how-to-save-flash-videos-from-youtube.html
From the website, it just mentions the fire fox only.
Actually Internet Explorer also can use one.
