Went to showroom and car dealer, different stuff i heard from both. i got questions now  rclxub.gif :

- IS it true there is a new facelift? according to the dealer, the new facelift for 1.6SX will have a touchscreen, and price will be the same but without discount RM2500.

- So the current 1.6SX all having a RM2500 discount? Why so good?

- Whats the difference from buying directly from showroom and dealer? i found dealer to be friendlier.

Im looking forward to join Forte club but I need these questions to be cleared sad.gif

Same here. They told me that the new FL will come out this month so better wait for it.
Definitely no more discount but they do give higher trade in value for my current car, anti theft tinting and also body kit.

Wow, where is it the dealer? So many freebies, the one that I quiet only give me a normal tint.
By the way, is it worth to do a leather seat? Or do it in cat accessories shop?
*
both SA from Klang n Sunway during the road show at 1U.
I am thinking of upgrading to full nappa leather. price quoted 2.4K from SA
let me know if u guys get cheaper else where.
and no it's not the same normal leather for the 2.0 forte.

1.6k that's what I heard. When is the road show? Is it still on?
*
the road show should end today.
1.6K is for the half leather something similar to forte 2.0 maybe but definitely not Nappa high grade.
i did asked and he quoted the same price. maybe u can confirm with your SA again laugh.gif

so u went to the road show, did SA there mention any price difference? between the new SX with touchscreen HU vs older SX?

By the way, whats the difference of Forte FL? vs non FL Forte?
*
I think (assume) the price should be the same since they didn't mentioned anything. hmm.gif

The diff I think just the body kit and HU (touch screen + GPS) for now. hmm.gif
Exterior except the body kit should be the same. hmm.gif

so the added touchscreen + bodykit = FL?

last time 1.6SX used to cost around 82K, hope this new version doesnt increase further...
*
I know they add in the touch screen. as for the body kit i am not sure if the SA bundle in for me or it's part of the so-called FL.

Ok, just to update u all. Just visit my SA test drive both model again. The new so called FL is there. N no it's not considered FL by them. Just fitted extra HU only. The navigator is not using Papago. Forgot the name. I think something like navi-way or sort. Can play DVD n media files. Since the car not register so there is no activation code for the navigator. Cannot test. sad.gif

Everything is the same. The body kit is from SA and also the tinting. No more discount. Even plate number also cannot sponsor.

If u wan discount get the one without the HU but only 1.5K discount. But for 1.6 only left platinum color. Other color no more. 2.0 only left white color. Memo panas from Naza itself.

So the FL is same price?

if thats the case, i rather get the old non-new HU forte, 2k can get me better stuff.
*
Yup confirm same price. But not sure u can get 2K or not. Mine gave 1.5K. I think can bundle in the body kit. But color limited. Unless u wanted that particular color.

But the new FL is without any discount right?
*
Yup, new "batch" no discount. Just give body kit n tinting.

so you went to test drive few rounds already right? wanna ask , hows the paddle shifters work? im very interested at this.
*
i only managed to play with the paddle shift once on my first test few weeks back.
i remember need to push the gear back to D (+) before you can manually use the paddle shift.
correct me if i am wrong but i feel that it's a bit fussy to do that.
why can't i just shift down from the paddle right? maybe the SA explained to me wrongly. hmm.gif

Of course there are cheaper ones outside, starting bout 1k. But if you want to get the one from kia it will cost you 4k+ including installation.
There are cheaper ones no doubt. But if it comes with the car i feel its more worth it than to get the cash discount.
*
Didn't really managed to test out the navigator just went thru the DVD/Tuner/CD function.
As mentioned earlier, they need to register the car only they can activate the navigator with the activation key.
So I can't see how fast the GPS lock on or how is the interface.
Gonna test drive AGAIN this weekend at Federal KIA branch. laugh.gif laugh.gif
They are bringing in the 2.0 FL so hopefully they register it so I can test the navigator off. rclxms.gif

Actually don't need to manually trigger the paddle shifts. Just press the paddle shifts and your gears will change accordingly smile.gif

E.g. While at AT mode, press ( - ) paddle shift and your car will shift down 1 gear. You will notice that your dashboard will tell you what gear you're at instead of just "D". Your car will maintain in MT mode for at least 5 seconds before changing back to AT mode automatically smile.gif

I always use this technique to overtake cars instead of flooring the accelerator / changing to MT mode wink.gif

Thanks for the answer bro rclxms.gif this is how paddle shift suppose to work and the SA explained wrongly to me .. blink.gif

this is only true for 2.0 SX, for 1.6 SX u need to move the shift lever to the right, then only u can use the paddle shifters. otherwise, pressing them wont do anything at all.
*
So the SA didn't BS me la .. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif need to push to the right on the D before paddle shift can be activated sweat.gif sweat.gif

bingo..actually its not that mafan once u used to it..in fact somehow u will have that "feel cool" factor..its like when u push it to the right then its like "BRING IT ON!" tongue.gif

oh and if you dont know already, u just need to PUSH the gear to the right - you DONT need to press the button for that.
*
OK la, can psycho myself that's like an activation process as you mentioned bro rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

PS: ya ya~ i know just push to the right smile.gif
Tried on the new Elantra too. Sadly they don't have paddle shifter just the semi auto gearbox only blink.gif

works the same for 1.6 i can confirm that - basically when you reach near the redline the gearbox will auto shift up to prevent damage on the engine and when you brake, it will gear down automatically too to prevent a stall.. what u can do with the paddles and the gears (plus and minus sign) are the same. the one on the elantra is just missing the paddle shifters but they could still use the semi-auto gearbox to treat them like "paddle shifters" but it wont have the same feeling la tongue.gif
*
rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif really not the same at all~~~ nod.gif nod.gif nod.gif

i wish to know this too.

By the way, anyone have any idea about the loan interest rate for Forte? and which bank is better?
*
SA told me for 1.6SX normally the interest would be 2.54 or 2.53 the best.
But it also depends on the loan amount and duration of repayment.
Mine is based on 7 years with 70K loan. biggrin.gif

I've been driving for about 7 years. And all of them are with kelisa. Now with the sudden change of car length lol.. well you get the picture..
*
Maybe u can try to increase the height of the seat? Then will be able to see the front of the car clearer so u won't bump into anything. smile.gif

Actually I already scratched the lowest part of the front body kit.. Didn't even heard a thing.. I only noticed it when I first washed my car..... Sakit hati... It's really a minor 1.. but it's caused by those low humps at front when I do tight turning for tagging access cards/inserting parking ticket in parking lots..

You know la those badly positioned ticket machines..
*
Oh, OK, i understand what you mean. That you need to be more alert.
Well I think driving more and more on your new car will make you more aware of the distance you need to keep. biggrin.gif
