My roof is leaking and old. so I check for roof spray and repair specialists in newspaper.

One is Sunshine and the other is Cromelin.

I was quoted around rm6000-rm7800.

but my contractor who did some renovation for a few houses in my area say no good.


he said roof spray is gimmick and cannot make roof waterproof like umbrela like they claim in newspaper.


I ask around and found out there are number of complaints against one of these roof spray company.


Now should I ask my deposit back and cancel? I call them but i get answer machine now.

wow, dunno there is such product...if your roof is old, just change the tiles(assuming your roof is tiles)

If changing the roof tile about this cost, better change the tile. Even the cost is slightly higher, it still worst it to change.

You need to find out the root cause of the leak. If its due to old cement roof that water slip in, than this kind of paint is ok.

If because of other faulty things you need to fix it.

agree, mite add in some csr coolbatt instead of just changing the tiles..

If only roof leakage can be so simple to fix by spraying a coating over the roof! It's too good to be true.

It's true that the roof gradient/pitch contributes to leakage. The lower the pitch, the higher the chance of leakage. You can't do much other than changing the whole roof.

There are many causes of leakage, some of which can be tricky to trace. You need to get people climb into the roof to do the checking when it rains, quite lecer.

The worst thing is that the roof structure has sagged/deformed. You'll have to redo the roof structure again which is not feasible if you're occupying the house.

My contractor said must rebuild the roof for better gradient. I ask another contractor yesterday also said he do not believe also in the australian roof spray claims.



I call Cromelin many times. Answering machine reply only. Leave message still no one call. The Cromelin lady said their spay will make my roof like umbrella. Now she does not pick up my calls.
Now how to get my deposit back?

I think my house have to change roof also, after strong wind then master bedroom start leaking, few times already, very headache. Anyone know how much will be the cost to change the whole roof? My build up size for double storey house is 20x40 after minus car porch and backyard balcony.
