i still didnt put anything valuable so i can use factory reset but really 2.3.6 from samsung spain from orange is buggy
*
Then don't use that one. There are so many 2.3.6 rom. You can try malaysia DXKL3. Or those of us on custom rom use KL1 or LA2 rom both also 2.3.6

Hey, noob here, I was just wondering can I change the bootanimation of the stock rom?
Or I can only change if I flash custom rom??

Thanks a million...
*
You need a kernel that support bootanimation then can change it already. BTW why your sig show u use checkrom but got cyanogen banner pulak. doh.gif

The pixel density in the screen is crazy compared to the S2. The kernels supports OC up to 650Mhz so it is pretty damn fast. It was certainly advanced, but all the winmo phones are dead now. People want to run android on them. So I do the next best thing, dual boot, Winmo from my NAND and Android from my MicroSD card.

Back to the topic, I can get 2 hours+ screen on time with my current setup, but after that I don't use my phone and I loose the rest of the battery to standby. After a whole day use, I have about 40% of battery left. The latest Siyah is pretty efficient  biggrin.gif
*
Hehe. Dual boot was nice. But in the end i just dump winmo and move fully to android on my hd2.

ant, u got install this rite?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007132
how to use it? i kinda confuse with this few quote
what i did is, i wipe n uninstall from titanium backup (maps n street view 1.7)..
but i cant click install from those apk..
i just use the  Google Maps6.1.1-ownhere-signed.apk move it to system/app (with rootbrowser)
and move street view 1.7 to system/app

then what next ? the red is for those who failed to install or open?
i open can see my position with the mini arrow, but map cant see properly.. keep loading.. i think no gps signal and my EDGE vry slow
*
You need to download the unsigned apk. Rename it to maps.apk then only move to system/apps. The signed apk is for normal install

After that then restore streetview, then only start the google map.

Bro these are pretty old as far as I remember. If I am not mistaken, you can use this but the maps cannot be updated to latest.

This is because Malaysia is not supported yet.
*
This is the latest with navigation. With these maps you can use navigation anywhere including malaysia. When you update the maps in market then you lose navigation.

SmartassV2 can be battery saving as well. It all depends on how you tune the parameters. If you use ThunderBolt!, those parameters will be tuned to have the best (from my point of view) battery and performance tongue.gif
*
I tried smartassv2 before on siyah setting but it didn't really give good batt saving when you use the phone alot, it tends to stick to high freq.

on the google navigation few pages back..

I wonder I can't installed mine. I did everything from the step from first pages, backup Maps and Street View, clean uninstall, put Map unsigned.apk in system folder but in the end it said application didn't installed. I wonder why?
*
1) Did you rename it to maps.apk
2) Did you put it in systems/apps
3) Did you restore streetview
4) Did you download the correct file
5) Is the file corrupted

Checklist. smile.gif

previously i was excited in rooting when first got my phone

still searching for one with lowest wakelock and battery comsunption at idle
*
I actually got best idle batt with siyah 2.6.7. Speedmod and CF kernel is also having good idle batt consumption.

When i first got my phone, flashing made me happy  rclxms.gif now flashing is a chore since need to restore back everything agn  doh.gif

Now i just settle with stock LA2 + NEAK kernel  biggrin.gif also notice that neak kernel standby batt consumption around 4-5% drain overnight, not that impressive, but still bearable
*
With data/wifi on? If it is off then it really is not impressive.
