Look at all my stars!! Senior Member 3,239 posts Joined: Jun 2005	Went to East Coast Park, SG for a short shooting session. Wasted lots of opportunity due to wrong focus using MF and peaking. Shown in focus and look sharp on LCD screen but when viewed on pc, it's OOF Here some of the photos. #1 Going opposite by 7EK, on Flickr #2 To the sea by 7EK, on Flickr #3 Sand Castle by 7EK, on Flickr #4 Stunt by 7EK, on Flickr #5 Going back by 7EK, on Flickr #6 Grind by 7EK, on Flickr All taken using SEL1855 except for #4 & #5 (SEL50F18) This post has been edited by toughnut: Apr 8 2012, 01:27 AM

Look at all my stars!! Senior Member 3,239 posts Joined: Jun 2005	stimix, I bought my SEL50F18 for SGD449, not SGD499 Thats around RM1080. Problem is not the price but availability as the lens still scarce. i checked the local forum here, SEL16F28 can be had for SGD180-200 mint lol. Thats less than RM500.

Look at all my stars!! Senior Member 3,239 posts Joined: Jun 2005	Some short review on SEL50F18 performance in low light. One word: Slow. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Last night I used it as my primary lens on my NEX 7 for company bowling event. Lighting condition not really bad as I can shoot comfortably using 1/100 at F2.8 with autoISO (A mode) if focus lock. Lens considered bright F1.8 but useless if cant lock focus in the first place. It hunt a lot even when stepped down to F3.5 or more. Even kitlens can lock faster lol. Normally I shoot with DMF but in this case, it's useless since MF wont work unless you locked focus. Using MF a no-go too as people keep moving around qucikly. Stepping down to F4.5 helped with wider focus plane but drag my shutter speed or hit my ISO. AND whats the different shooting with kitlens at 50mm? LOL

Look at all my stars!! Senior Member 3,239 posts Joined: Jun 2005	Focus hunting on SEL50F18 can be reduced to acceptable level (for me) by stopping down to F2.8. And for those who mentioned bout noisy AF motor, mine is dead silent. PS: Anyone watched the EM5 review by digitalrev? Seem like ergonomically its quite bad. vlngvkBxLME

Total cost: $37 » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Everything deployed. Size compared to 2L bottle and SEL1855. 2L bottle and camera insert inside, fit nicely and still can put in some accessories. Papers, filters, etc. And much more spaces inside the camera insert. Look at all my stars!! Senior Member 3,239 posts Joined: Jun 2005	For those who encounter shutdown due to heat during video recording, i done a test yesterday. NEX 7 with SEL1855, LCD still tucked in place. Finished recording two session of 29mins 10secs video without any warning. Room temperature around 31.8C (yeah, freaking hot). Body feel warm during the recording but no issue whatsoever.

Look at all my stars!! Senior Member 3,239 posts Joined: Jun 2005	I have SEL50F18, so far rarely used due to shooting environment (offshore). Everything requires wide angle that make 18mm look tight. Here's some photos taken using NEX 7 with kit lens

Look at all my stars!! Senior Member 3,239 posts Joined: Jun 2005	From what i heard, these sigma lenses doesnt requires hood as its coated to prevent flaring. How's the startup time with the sigma? Seem like take noticeably longer time to ready shoot
