May I ask what advantage does this give??   

Cause NEX already has a tripod mount at the bottom and  even cheap tripods can allow the camera to switch between a horizontal and vertical orientation by just a push of a lever.

Guys, pls help. my nex-3 sensor and lens are full of dust, due to i always change lens in the wild... i use blower but not helping, so should i send my camera to Sony centre or normal camera shop for cleaning? how much roughly?

agree with you bro... i want the bokeh, but dont loss too much of sharpness on the main item as well...
i still prefer DMF on nex...
so far SEL50F18 is really a good choice...
would like to see a new package bundle with the nex7 replacement in the future   

oh by the way, is all E-mount lens capable to satisfy the 24MP full picture quality of nex7? 

Hi bros, I bought my nex-5 + 16mm 1.5yrs ago, and I'm really disappoint and frustrated with the performance, I have dslr, and the quality from this camera is... Very bad, white balance is all off during auto (usually appeared colder) image quality is mushy, very soft.

After gone thru here maybe it's due to the inferior 16mm lens ? Ok I'm considering the 19mm sigma, any brother used this before ? And is it a lot better then the 16mm? Color wise compared to 16mm? And where is the best bargain?

I'm not sure if this can be used to convince you guys otherwise regarding your sentiments on the 16.. f/2.8 lens, but I don't seem to have any issues with it even with a very basic NEX3. Furthermore, as you know attaching anything to the front of any lens will definitely degrade the image quality by a fair bit however little it may be.

But do consider looking through these images in my blog and give your opinion on my so-so images... taken with NEX3 with 16mm f/2.8 lens with fisheye adapter in front.

So basically, what you're saying is that you've only read about it and have not tested it personally? 16mm vignettes badly? Sorry, I don't see it. Just taken out my 16mm and tested at all apertures. Doesn't seem to affect much even when shooting on a white wall. Stopped down, yes, it does sharpen the image up.

If I may ask, what is the largest size photo you will be printing to? My largest is 8R/A4 size. All my images from the 16mm have no visible issue at that size. I don't mean to disrespect, but if you come up with that decision due to pixel peeping, then I really think you should deeply reconsider this issue.

To my defence, the photo above was shot with the fisheye adapter, and as mentioned, filters will degrade an image, what more its at the extreme edges in the mentioned image above. And it's focused at infinity, the bridge is a few meters from where I was standing, with f/5.6, the foreground will not be in full focus.

The NEX3 does not have vignette reduction in camera, and even in my post process workflow, I do not do any vignette correction. In fact, I add vignette to images more instead of taking them out. So far for the Alpha line, only the A77 has this function, and even that, only compatible lenses can utilise this function.

The 17-50 is a very sharp lens. Pancake lenses like the 16mm has its compromises to make it achieve the compact size as it is, which is by compromising maximum optical performance. Else, for an f/2.8 lens, one would expect the lens element to be huge if it to be able to perform excellent optically.

Just curious asking, what is the max ISO can go for with low noise? 1600 or 3200?

Hi bros, because of my complaint of vignetting on 16mm, I got to see so much nice photos from this 16mm, hehe, kira untung.

Ok, cut the complaint, the fisheye adapter seems not bad, kind of missing my sold Samyang 8mm, not really know how to control, too wide. Might consider to buy UWA adapter if this lens not sold within 2 months, continue to explore it.

Ask strangers to pose might seems tough but once you break the thin barriers, it's not as tough, and usually they'll pose for you happily : )

Ya but Nex 5N unable to fit into my pocket... And rx100 possible, 1 of the Reason why I shooted only 2000+ photos with my nex-5 after 1.5yrs is its still bulky, comparing to my iPhone 4 haha.

Example is Ramadan bazaar, last 2 yrs I went there with my dslr, last yr with my film rangefinder, last week I was there with my iPhone + instagram, reason cos it shoot decent photo, and with the right mood, IQ doesn't really matter for street photography.

I see, cause my d700 is heavy for daily use... btw, i thought the new adaptor got auto focus?
Thinking to use with nikkor 12-24 n 70-300vr...

Huh, i thought LA-EA2 from sony can auto focus? Nikkor on it still manual focus? 

So far I guess it's only the Sony E-mount to canon EOS EF-mount, and Sony E-mount to Sony Amount adapters which are electronically connected. I haven't heard of an electronic one for Nikkor yet, so it's manual focus/manual aperture but i'm also hoping for an electronic one haha.

How u update? How it failed? what error message? battery enough? USB connector ok?
pls be more specific when asking help, then only others can try to figure out the problem.
