how much for group buy? Body only?
*
Seriously doubt you could find meaningful number to make up for group buy... but i got my 7 kit for 4169 if that is any help at all... else i think bintang in bb plaza is selling 7 body only for 3.8k if i am not mistaken... but... since bb plaza would be torn down by end of the year, you better be sure or be quick... good luck hunting...

you should try nex 7 then... it is a breeze to do any settings... have not used the menu button for ages (except to switch fully from AF to MF)...

There is a AF/MF button on the back to allow you to quickly toggle.
*
I don't think toggle is the right word to use coz it doesn't switch fully to AF or MF if you are on the other mode. you have to hold it while using it... else it will just roll back to whatever mode you were in... with that, if you wanna switch fully, only way (i think) is via the menu. unless i am wrong... any other nex 7 users please correct me.

You can enable AF/MF toggle as far as I have read. I don't have a NEX-7 though.
*
Is that right? Let me consult my manual... If that's the case, I will no longer need to use the menu button at all! Yay!

Thanks, but do you know how much roughly this kind of lens cost??

smile.gif
*
for wide angle:

(a) 16mm pancake lens by Sony : roughly 500 used?
(b) 19mm sigma : roughly 700 new

for fish eye:

(a) vcu-ecf adapter (must be apply together with 16mm lens) : roughly 350 new
(b) 8mm sam-yang fish eye lens... : probably bout 800 to 1k (i don't know and not even sure if they are out yet)

any one can teach me about the different between 50mm F1.8 VS 85mm F1.8

wat's the different???

Y the 85mm one so so expensive???

and is it the 85mm can do more zoom(DC) than the 50mm??
or the 85mm look more wide angle??
*
Additionally, focal length (50mm or 85mm) doesn't determine how pricy the lens would be. For example a cv 50mm is more expensive than a cv 75mm. if both lens construction is similar, then the price difference is due to aperature size. the longer the focal length, the more difficult it is to construct a lens to have a bigger aperature (lower f number) thus the price.

a simple way to understand is take for example a normal zoom lens SEL18200. Wide open aperature at 18mm is 3.5 while wide open aperature for 200mm is 6.3. so different focal length even tho the physical aperature opening might be the same, the f number will change. (this is not the case for those constant aperature zooms)

Of course there are more reasons to why certain lens are more expensive. what i am trying to point out is that for the same f number but different focal length, do expect price to be higher for longer focal length lens coz of the difficulty in having a larger physical aperature to gain the same f number. confused already? biggrin.gif

thanks alot and a very good explanation on shooting lion .............lol thumbup.gif

Added on July 25, 2012, 4:44 pmone more question is if i add a adaptor to use canon 50mm F1.8

the adaptor thickness is alredy about 30mm then is adapt with a 50mm F1.8 is it become 80mm F1.8????.........lol my stupid question!!
*
focal length doesn't add up just like that... it depends on your crop sensor... nex crop multiplication factor is 1.5 compared to a full frame sensor size (simply means full frame sensor is 1.5 times larger than the nex sensor... adapter thickness is only used to have the image formed optimally on the sensor when using a non native mount lens on to your camera...

hopefully it is layman enough...

so, buy a canon EF 50mm F1.8 II at RM 250 plus a adaptor for nex RM70

is it good enough to take bokeh photo??
*
bokeh is a very subjective thing.

i have no idea about the lens. have not used it before. good luck...

newbies in nex..what is the mount for the Voigtlander you try in zaloon? and the mount expensive?
*
voigtlander makes lenses for a few mounts but their more popular ones (or rather majority of their lenses) are for leica m-mounts...

i am guessing you want to try the voiglander lens with your nex thus you are actually trying to ask for converters right? lets just assume it that way anyhow; leica m-mount to e-mount (nex) has a few brands like voigtlander or kipon or nameless brands... voigtlander ones are more expensive (about rm550 i think) and others should be bout rm200 - rm300 and you even could probably find ones that are less than rm100...

Bro, nth is not worth... and the built is not the same...
if i'm not wrong, canon one is made by plastic and the aperture blade is not so smooth...

e-mount is built for compact... compact means costly...  wink.gif
*
50mm e-mount wasn't considered compact at all...
but OSS and metal construction does jack up the price of it...

Body only should be 2,5k then.

Amazon selling for 800+

Street pricing should be 2,5k.

I have no need for the pancake lens.
*
Errmm...

Nex 7 retail is US1200 without lens. Selling about 4.2k here when it was first launched... roughly about 3.5 conversion...

Nex 6 retails at US850 without kit lens... 850 x 3.5 is about 3k... i doubt they will launch it at 2.5k straight up... probably after a few months... maybe...

Oic Hahah thanks man! What about NEX7 they say the NEX6 focusing is an improvement?
*
with dual af (CDAF and PDAF) am quite certain it will be an improvement... my NEX 7 is really slow if your lighting is inadequate... usually by then i would have changed to MF + peaking... faster that way...
