The soundstage, the mids, the bass, and no expendable memory. And I want to try out the Sansa Line, if it's good, will get a LOD and make it my primary portable setup till I upgrade to something better.

Portable DAC+AMP+ LOD wouldnt make you happy or the IPOD itself?

What do you mean by portable dac+amp? I don't own one. smile.gif I'm not happy with the ipod, and the CLAS is definitely out of my budget.

Edit: I forgot about my Govibe MBA MK2.It can't be used with LOD though.

Ouchh.. thats hurt for you. But Im personally agreed at least by myself that you are one of the "kaki" audiophile here in LYN and you should know how to mix up any affordable DAC / AMP with your Ipod.

Hmmm. A DAC won't really work except the CLAS/HP-P1/HRT iStreamer/or if you are using camera connection kit(which only works with some kind of idevices). Adding an amp will solve the problem of sq, but not the problem of space. Furthermore, I'll definitely upgrade my player in a year or two, I'll just give the Fuze a try(I never even held one in my hand).

Yup, I know that. Right now, I only have the Govibe MBA MK2, which can't be used with LOD. Have planning to get the Vero bundle set at the end of this year.

Hi im thinking of getting a good player. Budget below 950.
I was thinking of getting an ipod but i hate apple cause of apple sued samsung because of having curved edge design on the galaxy's. I previously had a sony nwz b133f.
I prefer have display and superb audio quality. And also support a lot of audio formats. Also need to have flac and other lossless file support.
Thanks. biggrin.gif

Im a samsung galaxy fanboy tongue.gif

hey all, i've been doing some research on daps but i seem to be fixating on the cowon x9 (but i was also informed theyre releasing a new product by end of this year and another early next) :s as such, i thot id broaden tt field and option by asking what other recommendations are there. (do a proper research before investing one time good good. hurhur)

1) space. has to have alot of space. its okay if its little space but expandable by memory cards. (have appx 70gb(still growing) of audio to go in. yes i have considered filtering just the songs i hear more frequently out, no, it doesnt work. because i have erratic music preference moods. one moment i feel like jazz the next i feel like trance and then oldies and then to goth metal and then... u get the gist. its waaaay waaaay too troublesome to keep filtering.

2) be able to playback a wide range of audio formats.

3) UI preferrably features easy scroll. so i dont have to press the next or down button a gazillion times before getting to the song im looking for.

4) if possible, has a user customisable equalizer. problem i find with the cowon is the bass tends to roll off and overall audio sounds colored. kinda like taking a photo and then processed through photoshop such that original colors and details are all overly made up -.- but is it mostly like that? haven had the chance to try much other players.

5) looks good + good battery life. heheh

6) budget: < sgd$800 (okay to go over alittle)

7) where can i try/get said player.

Thank u all in advance!!
