Well lets not go so far, just a quick comparison with our nearest neighbour singapore lor. Why not compare to Indon/Thai? Cause that would be moving backwards, if we want to move forward lets improve and compare with a first would country.
Salary wise, this country is decent but ofcourse nothing compared to Singapore due to the exchange rates, but if 1:1 then our salary is around Singapore standard so its nothing much to complain about.
Daily expenses is also decent. However, cost of living in KL is higher then in Singapore, i'm sure everyone will agree on this.
Price of goods is ofcourse higher, but that is due to our weak Ringgit, cannot really do much about it.
Fuel price is cheap, but that comes at a HUGE cost (as the Govt have always been harping on subsidising petrol as a favour to us, but they neglected to mention the car tax u paid can easily buy you 10 years worth of UN-subsidized petrol) . Also note we are a nett exporting country for crude oil, and compared among nett crude exporter, our fuel price is still on the high side.
Car price, compared to SIngapore, if its 1:1 without converting then our car price is insanely expensive. But Singapore car prices is very high due to the fact that the country is SMALL they do not have space to accomodate huge amount of cars hence the implementation of COE to regulate the amount of vehicles on the road. Without the COE, car prices in Singapore is pretty cheap. Compared to developed nations, car prices in Malaysia is easily one of the most expensive. The fact is worse that a new grad cant really afford a safe/decent car without taking a HUGE hit to his monthly salary. And as we all know, cars are not a luxury in Msia (due to our shitty public transportation system) its a necessity.
Finally massat price... cannot comment, I do not go massat, solly
