The salesman claims that the plugs are new etc etc.. Maybe I should give it a check and do a overhaul if needed..

Im just saying that more people fit in 4AGE engines in their everyday driving SEGs than SR16DE NEO or SR20DET in their everyday driving B14s unless they mod it for other purposes of u know what....

Dont know why but it seems that fitting 4AGE is popular.. Maybe its easier to get and parts are cheaper..

biggrin.gif D only time I'll believe a car sales persons words bout any replacement is when he actually takes me to d place when d changes is made n I see it wit my own eyes.

Basically only d SR16DE's water pump is a bit harder to come by. D other parts r quite easy to source or just as reliable as Toyota's 4AGEs.

As for d reason theres more ppl putting black n siltertops in their everyday rides is typically b'coz there's more Corollas (AE92,EE/AE100 & AE/EE111) on d road now compared to Sentras (B13, B14 & Y10). Cost wise, both halfcuts costs about d same.

SR16de halfcuts are harder to find, and it is a bit more expensive compared to the 4age

Ahh I see now.. Now that you've mentioned it.. Yeah the population of Corollas are more than Sentras..

Btw.. Is there big difference in performance between SR16DE and 4AGE despite being in different league? If im not wrong, 4AGE Blacktops are 1.6 20V right?

Dude, since u just got d car gv it a proper service 1st (replace plugs, lubes, flush all d oils n coolants, check for worn hoses etc). Many claim tat GA16DE's pickup is stronger compared to Toyota's 4AFE (stock vs stock), me included.

Oh, n leave d 4-throttle or older 4AGEs (blacktop, silvertop, redtop or bluetop) out of tis. All r in different leagues wit different purposes unless ur wanna bring in Nissan's SR16DE NEO, Mitsu's 4G92 MIVEC n Honda's B16s.

I'd say go for the AE101/111.
I'm driving 1 and I should know.
A properly maintained 1 should last and serve you well.
My car is at 300k km, and hasn't gone for an overhaul yet. Everything is still good. No oil leaks, no overheating. All I did was a top overhaul at 150k and the usual maintenance. Repairs CAN be costly depending on what you change (comparing this with local cars) as i think it is getting old, so parts might get more expensive.

Power wise the 4A-FE can pull you along pretty well, but will start to drop if you have 3 persons or more in the car. Don't expect blistering 0-100 time cause it will take at least 12 seconds to get from standstill to 100. If you want any more you need to plonk in a 4A-GE or more.

FC wise here are my clocks
100% city drive - 450km @ 37liter.
100% highway - 600km @ 37 liter.

My record was 750km on 48 liters (penang-Kuala Trengganu-Penang)

Toyota's suspension system will last you 8-10 years easily if you dont seriously abuse it...

Now I regret buying that B14 lol..

Any different between the AE101 orange-red lamps and AE101 white-red lamps?...is it just the lamp color is different?
*
Same model...just orange Red = 1993 year , white red = 1995 year
if u get SEG 1993 .... u can mod that rear facelift also.......(1995)
