QUOTE(endau02 @ Jan 17 2012, 11:41 PM) Hey folks, wondering sentra b13 spare part exp? Wanted to get seg... but too exp imo... thnx for d input Hi, Brother look your avatar is Ang Mo + Amy, Should better go SEG Limited or AE111.The FC still better than nissan sentra b13, even the corolla is older model but the spare parts at anywhere you can find. hehe i am also interested of SEG. anywhere the SEG is a good car of sedan. but on nissan sentra is just slightly bad on 1.6cc most of time is underpowered and heavy pick up with bad FC. Thanks. |

Yup. Used to drive a b14. Powerful and consumption is surprisingly low. The downside was the gear ratio was high.

Take SEG, in term of;
- looks (depend but i think SEG looks 'smarter' hence the "mini-Lexus" nickname dubbed to it - resale value(most malaysians must be thinking about this - spareparts This post has been edited by [kuaLe]_AGX: Jan 18 2012, 09:20 AM |

either the owner of B14 did some mods or the car already got problem.
I'd used the car for 5 years stock only. its really gentle on the wallet. Get SEG. it's much robust. |

TS,
1stly which SEG version r u talking about - 92/95 AE101 (orange-red lamps vs white-red lamps) - 96/97 AE111 - 98/00 Facelift AE111 (2 air bags n ABS on some auto SEGs) Hv a Y10 ADR running on GA16DS and a std 97' AE111 on 4AFE (same block running in AE101) both manual. D ADR's engine is just carb fed compared to injected n d GA16DE has aditional VTC, n chassis wise is just slightly stretched wit a torsion beam in d rear. Annual maintenance costs almost d same n easy on d wallet. Comparin both, d pickup from d Nissan is punchier but more crude interms of NVH next to 4AFE. FC wise about d same, both around 500km easily on full tank wit some to spare. D engine in d Nissan is also running on t.chain compared to belt. But I'm more towards d Toyota even d AE101 typically coz - B13 cabin is a bit narrower - Sentra is a tad older (might as well get d newer n bigger B14 wit just a bit more $$) but less exciting to drive - s'how feel Toyota chassis lasts better (bushes last longer n feels better put together) - GA16xx block a bit sensitive to overheating n might end up wit cracked block head. My ADR had tis last yr n had to settle wit whole transplant coz d head alone was selling 70% of d whole bock n is rare. - brakes on Nissan Y10, B13, B14 n even current N16 bites a bit too hard n fast to me. End up locking d rear often especially in d wet. This post has been edited by Deja Vu: Jan 18 2012, 09:36 AM |

SEG is better in my opinion..
I just bought a 95' B14 1.6 recently.. Its fully original and the pickup/overtaking power us lousy. Consumption is around 400-500KM per full tank of RM70-80. Stock suspension is not bad on 14" steel rims(not sport rims) with Michelin 185/65/R14 tyres I can take sharp corner at 50-60KM/h without skidding on dry surfaces although I constantly hear "klock klock" sound if I hit a pot hole or small bumps.. My friend's SEG AE101(White red lamp) just fitted in a 4AGE 1.6 20V engine and the pickup/overtaking power is damn satisfying. Suspension is also way better than the B14. Toyota is famous for their long lasting suspension system and more rugged chasis.. SEG looks also more sporty after snapping on bodykits and rear spoiler compared to the too rounded B14 in my opinion.. This post has been edited by LightningChan: Feb 3 2012, 04:13 PM |

Oh, n leave d 4-throttle or older 4AGEs (blacktop, silvertop, redtop or bluetop) out of tis. All r in different leagues wit different purposes unless ur wanna bring in Nissan's SR16DE NEO, Mitsu's 4G92 MIVEC n Honda's B16s. |

Dont know why but it seems that fitting 4AGE is popular.. Maybe its easier to get and parts are cheaper.. This post has been edited by LightningChan: Feb 3 2012, 06:33 PM |

D other parts r quite easy to source or just as reliable as Toyota's 4AGEs. As for d reason theres more ppl putting black n siltertops in their everyday rides is typically b'coz there's more Corollas (AE92,EE/AE100 & AE/EE111) on d road now compared to Sentras (B13, B14 & Y10). Cost wise, both halfcuts costs about d same. |

If im not wrong, 4AGE Blacktops are 1.6 20V right? |

I'd say go for the AE101/111.
I'm driving 1 and I should know. A properly maintained 1 should last and serve you well. My car is at 300k km, and hasn't gone for an overhaul yet. Everything is still good. No oil leaks, no overheating. All I did was a top overhaul at 150k and the usual maintenance. Repairs CAN be costly depending on what you change (comparing this with local cars) as i think it is getting old, so parts might get more expensive. Power wise the 4A-FE can pull you along pretty well, but will start to drop if you have 3 persons or more in the car. Don't expect blistering 0-100 time cause it will take at least 12 seconds to get from standstill to 100. If you want any more you need to plonk in a 4A-GE or more. FC wise here are my clocks 100% city drive - 450km @ 37liter. 100% highway - 600km @ 37 liter. My record was 750km on 48 liters (penang-Kuala Trengganu-Penang) |

Toyota's suspension system will last you 8-10 years easily if you dont seriously abuse it...
Now I regret buying that B14 lol.. |
